From the Author

*** NOTE TO READERS:  At the risk of taking some of the surprise out of the plot, please be aware BEFORE downloading and reading that this is Book #1 of a three-book LOVE TRIANGLE based **serial** romance between two brothers who fall in love with the same woman.  If you don't think a woman should ever even consider dating a man if she's dated his brother in the past (approx half a year prior), or you feel very strongly about the bro code in any shape and form, this is definitely NOT the book for you.  There are many reviews below (with and without spoilers) with thoughts and opinions about this that you can check out before reading if you have any reservations.  And if you're unsure, to be safe, it's probably best to pass -- I have other books not involving love triangles at all.  *grin*  Just wanted to avoid traumatizing any readers inadvertently.  =)  Either way, happy reading!  And to reiterate again, this is NOT a standalone (there IS A CLIFFHANGER ending).  If you hate cliffhangers, step *away* from this book.  Seriously. ***

Good things first:

I did enjoy this story right up until the end. Violet Duke is a good writer with a strong voice, good characterization, and the story has been well-edited. I loved Connor, and her description of him and how he unfolded as a character. Abby was built well, but I didn't love her as a character. I'm giving this story a three star because of these reasons, to be fair, although my end feeling when I got to the end was definitely a 2 star.

What I disliked:

This isn't a full story. I was really frustrated with this because I saw "book 1" and assumed that this would be part of a series, but it would be a self-contained story within itself. I suppose I should have paid more attention, but I think that it should have been labeled "part 1" or "episode 1" rather than "book 1" because the last implies a certain level of completeness that isn't there.

What I really hate is that apparently the second book is going to be Brian and Abby's story. For the record, Brian is the "best friend" who Abby has pretty much been the emotional rock for and served as his daughter's surrogate mother because his wife had Huntingdon's. My hate goes in two directions: if Brian does end up with Abby, I'm going to be incredibly peeved because then the entire first episode would have just been a tease and I hate being teased. If Connor ends up with Abby, which is what I think should happen because Connor really deserves someone amazing, then I'm going to have to pay for a full episode that I don't really want to read because I'm not interested in Abby and Brian, I'm interested in Abby and Connor and now I'll have to wait for an indeterminate amount of time to actually get the full story.

Can I mention again that I hate serials?

I loved this book! The writing was wonderful and the story was real and believable. Conner is a bad boy who doesn't do relationships and Abby is funny and sexy and sure of herself. They meet, again, and they have instant chemistry. The dialog is so great that you laugh out loud and you really connect with the characters. It's not the same old story of boy meets girl, they fall in love, he messes it up then begs her to come back and HEA. Nope. But it's a must read!

Beautiful romantic story between Connor and Abby. Both of them were really too good. I liked this book very much. Besides romantic love affairs, there were also full of family love, brothers' love, friends' love. The author has done a great writing, I could not but be moved by the love between these characters.
And it's funny and humorous too. I could not stop smiling when Abby and Connor were negotiating the duration of their dating arrangement! Incredibly funny. Yet, one drawback about the book that I did not like so much was the sex scenes were too graphical, that's not necessary. The story was good enough and attractive without these spices.

Nevertheless, I like this book as much and could not put it down without finished reading to its last page. I cannot wait to start the second book to know what's going on to happen on them and I am lucky that I have not started the first book before all three are ready.

This is the first book in a trilogy and is not a stand alone. This book does end with a cliffhanger. With that being said I want you to know that the second book is out right now and I will be starting it as soon as I finish this review. I loved the characters. They have you laughing constantly with the way they banter. As soon as Abby and Connor first started talking to one another they had me hooked. Their sexual chemistry is explosive. They definitely heat thing up. This is Abby, the good girl, and Connor's, the bad boy who shows no emotion, story. This is a well written story that had me rooting for Abby and Connor the minute they agreed to a one month relationship. Connor needs someone to love and who will love him back and Abby just brings something out in him that I can't resist.

The second story will be Abby and Brian's (the good boy, Abby's best friend, and Connor's younger brother) story. I'm a huge Connor and Abby fan from just this book and can't wait to finish the trilogy to see who she ends up with. Violet Duke awesome job on pulling a reader in. You kept me glued to my kindle and left me wanting more. Can't wait to see where we go next with these books. A must read for all book lovers out there.

I so loved this series. I was on the edge of my seat just waiting for what Abby would decide. I would change what I wanted that decision to be from one scene to the next. I get so involved in the characters in the books I read, I just love it when an author is able to drag you into their lives and make you feel like you are right there with them, living each moment and decision with them. Abby made Connor a better person than he ever was without her. You start seeing him in a different light and know that she should choose him just because of who he becomes with her. But with the one month rule it is like they are holding back because they are both afraid of saying to much to soon....then through the family problems and you just wish the whole lot of them with lots of love....Love the ending and can't wait to see what next is in store. At least I hope there is still something more.
