What were the implications for the parallel universe. The characters were enjoyable, a little to one dimensional. Enjoyable and thought provoking, but felt as if there could be more to it... maybe a relapse of the field in a sequel !!!
When you begin reading any book by A.J. Scudiere you already know certain things: the book will be well-written, with excellent editing and proper proofing. You will know the story will be well thought out, well constructed, fast-paced and filled with enough twists and turns to feel like a ride down San Francisco's Lombard Street.
In her books, you will find the characters to be complex, realistic and solid enough that you actually care what happens to them after the next unexpected event befalls them. An important thing for me when I read a book is that I am never forced to suspend disbelief, as happens in so many e-books on the market today. Another thing with A.J.'s books is you will never know which genre the book will belong to, since she will surprise you at some point and throw a genre at you that you are not expecting; whether it is a standard crime fiction (with a twist), something with a little supernatural bent on the side or simply a current day science fiction novel based on scientific fact.
Resonance is no different. When most people think of science fiction, they think of a story that takes place in Earth's dystopian future, on another planet or deep in outer space, involves, monsters, aliens and robots or the effects of thermo-nuclear war. There is another type of sci-fi, though; a story set on Earth at the current time; a book that which involves actual scientific theories, yet is fictional; but it is a storyline that could very well occur tomorrow. A.J. Scudiere is a master of this type of story.
As with "Shadow Constant," when I began reading "Resonance" I thought the story was going in one direction. Not much further into the book, the storyline went somewhere else, for a far more interesting and realistic read. A.J.Scudiere's books are like a roller coaster ride. They are fast-paced, full of unexpected twists, turns and flips, and whenyou are done, you want to jump on the next one right away.
