Quote from story:"It's not an either or proposition, you know...Being independentand loving a man..."
Review:  "Loved thisstory! With just enough history to place the reader on the ship and then in SanFrancisco during the gold rush, just enough passion from the characters to makea reader fall in love, and just enough plot to keep you turning the pages intothe night, Restless Hearts is a wonderful addition to my keeper library. Sarahis a great heroine with a large heart and big ambitions. In Jamie, she findsthe man her friend Lucy described in the above quote. Masterful!"

"How these two meet and interact is told amidst thebackground of a four month sea voyage to historic San Francisco, which is inthe midst of gold rush fever, and the their lives once they reach there. It'smore than just a love story between two people; it's a look at how people growand thrive despite adversity. ..."

"I'mnot much into historical novels, but this one didn't feel it had that 'oldtimer' to it, it was quite a light enjoyable read. Meeting Sarah's friends, allthis in the middle of the Gold Rush.
Yes this is a romantic read, love and romance gohand in hand don't they? But this is also a moral story of how anyone canovercome adversity, things life throw at us when we least expect it, its easyto bow out, to lay down and take it, but Sarah was a strong character, or atleast that is what came across to me. Kind and humble too, which of course isan attractive quality.
I must thank Mona Ingram for allowing me to readthis book even though she thought maybe its not my type of genre, but Iactually loved it."

From the Author

I have wanted to write this book for a long time, and to that end I have been collecting research and reading about the San Francisco Gold Rush era for many years. This book is not, however, a history lesson. It's a romance, with accurate references to what the city was like in those turbulent times.
As the plot developed, I realized that I had three distinct stories - each one featuring a woman who had come to San Francisco at a crossroads in her life. The women are connected by friends and situations, but each story is distinct and can be read as a stand-alone. As my readers have discovered over the years, these stories, while romantic at heart, aren't all sweetness and light. They portray the gritty life that was San Francisco in those days, which makes the romances even sweeter. Enjoy!
