I got bored of Challon, the hero, constantly saying, 'I belong'. Saying it once was enough for me. The attempt at a mystical connection to the land and the woman, Tamlyn, was overdone and lacked passion.
After page 250, I gave up trying to plow through this book and moved on to something else.
Deborah MacGillivray was on the right track early on but it became boring and repetative all too quickly. I plan to read more of her books, she started out captivating the reader but that captivation turned into repetition, there is only so much excitement that one can draw from an apple tree no matter how ancient and powerful it may be.
