I was particularly put off by the number of times the author says to "Contact the manufacturer" and "Refer to the manual". He also skips most engine work by refering you to a "C&A" certified mechanic. (The author's own restoration project was a Cessna.)
He does give one reference for finding information on real antique airplanes, but that's about it.
I'm no pilot, but my estimation is that this would be a good introduction to someone contemplating the purchase of an older plane that might need work. It should at least give you a glimmer of how careful you have to be in making even minor repairs (e.g. for a metal patch: rivet spacing, rivet type, rivet diameter are all specified "by the manufacturer").
But as an interesting read for someone interested on how old biplanes were put together, forget it!
