Mr. Ehrhart understands that wisdom and maturity flow, not from what we “know,” but from the openness present when we are honest enough to admit that we don’t know—so appropriate in the challenging territory of parenting. He models this beautifully, with humor and humility, and the many entertaining stories based on his personal experience crystalized my learning and made reading this book a felt experience that will stay with me.
The seven ways to transform parenting presented in the book, represent nothing less than a paradigm busting approach to relating to ourselves, our children and others, that disrupts cycles of domination and control that have been handed down for countless generations and caused untold suffering.
There is a wealth of tips and guidance here that ushers in a new way to approach each and every relationship with more awareness and skillful means. The spiritual dimensions are interwoven in subtle yet profound ways and provide the book its ultimate poignancy. There is an honesty and warm-heartedness here that make it clear that John Ehrhart is an authentic guide, and his book a worthy companion on the journey of becoming more and more human and humane.
