Our family has loved having these eggs! Our children are 6, 4, 2, and 1. They were captivated with each "trinket" and its part in the story of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection! What a delightful way to count down the days to Easter weekend! We also purchased the book Benjamin's Box to read along with the resurrection eggs. We ended up not finishing the book with the eggs because it was confusing to mix the fiction book along with the reality of the Easter story. The booklet included with the eggs was wonderful for explaining each object and how it tells the story of redemption.

An excellent alternative to the secular easter bunny egg theme. Afterall, easter is supposed to be about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not bunnies and eggs. This set includes 12 plastic eggs each containing a small trinket that goes along with a story book provided about the ministry of Jesus, his death, burial and resurrection. Praise God - let's take back this holiday!

Let me begin by saying I belong to the Mormon Church, (aka Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, or LDS Church.) I LOVE this set. A few years ago, when I was Primary President, I tried to put several home-made versions of this set together by myself (with the help of my two tireless counselors)-- one for each family of children in my Ward. If you have never tried to do that, let me tell you about it. It's frustrating, expensive, time-consuming, and finally-- unless you spend tons and tons of money-- a failure. . Just try to find one little, tiny donkey figure that will fit into a plastic egg. Then, if you do find one, you can't buy just one or two-- you have to buy 50, for $50-$100. That's just for the first symbol! There are 10 more to go! Then go on to experience the same difficulties, frustrations, and expense for EVERY, SINGLE SYMBOL. After that-- try writing your own booklet to describe the symbols clearly, and simply enough for a child-- even though you are describing the most amazing, marvelous, and unfathomable event the entire world has ever experienced. Few adults understand the real concept of the Resurrection and Atonement. Yet, when you try to write your own booklet, you are trying to explain it simply, easily, and most importantly-- interestingly enough that a child-- with an attention span of only four minutes-- will want to sit and listen while it is told! I still have families in my Ward who send me "thank you cards" every Easter for my efforts with my little homemade sets. However, had I known about this set of Resurrection Eggs-- I would have gladly paid $50 per set to provide them for those children. (I think I actually spent much more than that in time, tears, frustration, and money spent.Read more ›

My 7-year old daughter REALLY loved opening the eggs and learning the Resurrection story. There were many parts I didn't realize she had missed (like the 30 pieces of silver and the cock crowing) and this was a wonderful way to learn them. Two small quibbles prevented me from giving this 5 stars. One, a few of the eggs arrived cracked (we have tons of plastic Easter eggs, so I was able to switch them out). Two, we are Catholic and the booklet that goes along with it does not accept the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Luckily, I read it with her the first time (she concentrated on the eggs, and I did the reading). I was able to skip those parts, and then blacked them out with permanent marker in the book for future solo reads.

I ordered for my Sunday School class and we open one egg a week. It is a great visual for the kids. The trinkets are good quality and to a great job explaining the Easter story. A book accompanies it to teach from.

My 2 and half year old loved finding the figurines in the eggs. The book was still a bit wordy for her age, so I would "read" a quick one sentence synopsis of a page, have a discussion over what color egg we were looking for, and then she would open the egg and be so excited that the figurine was related to what the book just "said". For some reason, the praying hands symbolizing Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane sparked her interest the most - she has been talking about Jesus' praying hands all week! She is still a bit young for figurines' sizes, so we only play with them with the two of us sitting together. My 1 and half year old was VERY interested in the figurines, but it was just too much to watch with him - I know that next year he will be so excited. I fully expect to be able to use these for many years.

I love this set! My daughter just turned 3 and we opened 1 egg a night leading up to Easter and each night went over the previous eggs. By about 3 times going over each egg, she remembered what they represented and her favorite part of bedtime was opening a new egg.
A couple things: It would be nice if the book actually fit inside the egg container; it was a tiny bit too big. Also, I wish you could pick the language the book came in. It is English and then if you flip it over the other half is Spanish. You can save paper and space by only including the language the customer wants.
