Nice sturdy feeling radios.The software has all the frequencies locked out and a couple are backwards but that’s expected as it’s just a business band radio reprogrammed for FRS.It does include a place in their software to install a programming password so that’s kind of nice to keep others from change out your PL tones... but that’s basically all you can do. It did come with PL tones on all channels so that it will match only Retevis radios without programming. Meaning... other “FRS/GMRS” radios will hear you but you won’t hear them without the same privacy code.I bought these primarily for the battery life and to beat on. Antenna isn’t fixed, frequencies don’t match FRS channels 100%, can’t edit frequencies, 2-3w output on all channels, can’t find replacement batteries in google searches & pretty sure the USB C port will eventually fail & I can’t find a dock for it. Not my first choice of radio for the cost as I pair up with others regularly but I wanted to check Retevis out. Audio sounds more clear than a 888 or 88st but not as loud.Seems to be a good radio at a fair price. It’s not legal but at least it’s not on public service frequencies lol.
