Update: Retevis contacted me and will be sending me a new transceiver to replace the defective one. They said the customer service agent I was working with was new and didn’t know the proper way to help me. In light of this I am changing my review to reflect that they do stand by their warranty and made it right. If in need of two radio’s I would recommend this one
The cons: The transceivers work pretty good but we have a defective one in our group of 5. It didn’t work right out of the box. It just transmits static. Amazon would not return for a new one. If I return the whole set and repurchase I would pay more because the price is about $30 more now than when I purchased. They have a one year manufacturer warranty but when I contacted Retevis they said they can’t honor the warranty because I bought through Amazon not them directly. I will not buy from this company going forward because of this policy. It should not matter which retailer you purchased the Retevis product from. So we only have four working transceivers. (Please see update above as Retevis made it right and sent us a new transceiver.)
The Pros: Good battery life and quick charging time. The reception range is also very good. On our 10 acres we have good reception no matter how far apart we are. We mainly purchased these because our cell phones don’t have cell service outside our home (only on WiFi). These transceivers allow us to communicate with each other when we otherwise would not be able to.
