Retribution starts out with our 2 main hero's traveling different paths with the remnants of the surviving resistance fighters. While each have their own battles to fight along the way, they finally re-unite at the N.O.R.A.D. bunker under Cheyenne Mountain.
The final battle Mitchell devises is of epic proportions and clearly illustrates Mitchell's mastery of original plot development. I will not ruin the final battle and the unique twists and turns that make this such an epic tale.
However, let me just say that Retribution earns every one of the 5 stars that I award it and mega-kudos to Mitchell's brilliance!!!
This concluding book of the Harvesters series is breathtaking, fraught, funny but with time for the occasional tear.
The whole series has been superb. The characters, including Al, Jarek's friendly AI, for all their outlandishness, have become friends. Even the author, Luke R.Mitchell, commented at the conclusion of the book that "I don't want to say goodbye" and this reader can totally endorse that - neither did I.
But new readers, don't start with this book. This is a series to read from the beginning in order to get to know the characters and feel the situation. There is a lot happening.
And I highly recommend that you do read it.
It is quite unexpected, well written and very enjoyable
