The mystery of Fancy's birth, the danger she faces, the friends she makes (the heroes from previous books were an enchanting and funny addition) and the path of her marriage to her happily-ever-after are the parts of a cherished romance and life's lesson - all that remains is Love, the greatest gift of all!! Thank you Ms. Callaway for another treasure!!
The handsome and noble hero who clawed his way from rags to riches ended up marrying a woman with a humble upbringing. The heroine grew up in a happy family and despite being poor she has grace and elegance and skills. She is everything that is true and good. The hero was supposedly in love with a childhood friend and was blinded by that love for a time. Although he was faithful to his marriage vows he held back his heart because, well, blinders are on. Anyway, the heroine sort of like reminded me of My Fair Lady. She went through a transformation to become a duchess but she remained true to who she really is. There were some twists and turns in the plot. It made it more interesting and There was also groveling and a dose of love scenes the way only Grace Callaway could write. Super hot.
The epiloge was so perfect it covered more than one HEA. It is simply divine.
I get Fancy wanted a fairy tale, but the ending didn't fit. At all. Friends and family mean everything to her, and she'll just up and leave to be a princess and then queen? Nope. Just didn't buy it. I loved this couple, but the ending sucks. I'd rather just imagine them living between London and the country instead. Although I have a feeling the royals will be back sometime in the future, as usually happens with this author. So I'll just have to accept it with grumbles, I guess.

I enjoyed this book so much, I finished it in a day. Fancy was definitely my favourite character. She had such a zest for life and was such a sweet and gentle person, who strives to see good in all. I liked that she was herself and not ashamed of her working class background. Severin Knight, although he was now a duke, had experienced a very tough life and was a self made man. They had an instant attraction but Fancy didn’t suit his idea of a duchess. This is a story that has danger, a secret and some very passionate scenes. The way the friends all worked together very satisfying. The only thing that I felt was a bit rushed was the epilogue, such a lot happened in a short time. However, this was a most engaging read.
