I ordered this insert for two spice drawers in my new kitchen. I believed the instructions, which say the product can be "trimmed to fit" with a craft knife. I am a long-time crafter, so I have a cutting table, mats, and several different versions of razor-type craft knives. I set everything up with complete confidence I could do this myself. I should have read the reviews first, because after trying for two hours to cut through the material with every craft knife in my possession, I learned that no one in the history of the world has been able to cut it with a craft knife. Most reviews contained the statement, "My husband cut it with.."--you can fill in the blank with "table saw", "electric hand saw", "Dremel Tool", etc. In my case, after admitting defeat, my husband cut this insert with a fancy Japanese cross-cut fine-tooth pull saw (a small handsaw with an 8" blade). He specified that I must say this was a pull saw without a stiffening bar because if it had one, it would not have been able to go through the material. As you can see, he feels some ownership over this drawer insert now (and my review), which I was afraid of.
Bottom line, the drawer inserts fit beautifully and I now have my large collection of Penzey's spices beautifully organized.
