About the Author
Stephanie has been writing about and working in the wellness business since 2009 after turning her own life around through teaching herself about nutrition and exercise. “For me, losing weight, discovering how to make the right food choices, and learning how to lift weights and exercise properly has taken me on a years-long journey of experimentation, trials, success, and even failure. That's what I feel separates me from many others--my desire to learn and grow as a person and to share my knowledge with others. This is what drives my passion to write: so I can help people who are like me, and like you.” Since Stephanie started her journey, she has lost 50+ pounds, has started blogging about her journey on her popular website, strongfigure.com, and she has received over 10 fitness certifications. Stephanie has also become a certified health coach and a sports nutritionist who is proud to have found her place in the fitness and nutrition industry. Stephanie’s proudest accomplishment (besides her beautiful family) is the change she has made in her life, and this is what has inspired her two books, REVAMP Your Health, and The Total Health and Fitness Makeover. When she’s not writing about health or spending time with her family, she can be found coaching CrossFit and bootcamp classes, lifting heavy weights, and figuring out how to eat fun foods in a healthy way. Stephanie met her husband, Erik, when she was trying how to learn to be a healthier, and he not only helped her learn about the process, but he is the one who encouraged her to pursue her dreams of helping others learn the same. Now they have a beautiful daughter whom they adore. “She is my new motivation and I want her to grow up a healthy little girl with the best role model mom that I can be.” "After having my beautiful baby girl, I couldn’t imagine a life plagued by illness and doctor visits. I want her to see a healthy, happy mom who doesn’t focus on numbers on a scale, who eats real food, and loves feeling strong. I want her to grow up knowing she can eat great foods and that strong is fit. If I can do this for her, I can do this for others.” In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading, photography, traveling, being outdoors, and sharing exotic foods and great wines with her husband, Erik. She, husband, and daughter live in a small college town (go Dukes!) with their two dogs and cat; and her family and friendships mean the world to her.
