Revealed takes place in Third Earth. A Black Ops team has been asked to join the fight against a fascist ruler, Chustaffus, who intends to extend his empire through all dimensions. Warrior Duncan is ascending and constantly gaining new third level abilities. He has visions of future events, but recently a powerful seer has been interrupting and even blocking them. Rachel is a warrior and a shield, a fourth level ability. She loves gardening and hates war, and she desperately wants to return to her quiet life. Except for Duncan and her role protecting the team when they go out to fight death vampires, she would not have left Earth. They are unbonded mates, each has a past that gets in the way of making a commitment in spite of their love for each other, and she is carrying a secret. One that could very well force them apart forever.
As the story progresses, we are privy to the lives of other warriors and get glimpses of potential matings in the works. Warrior Owen and Katlyn play a prominent role in freeing Chustaffus' slaves, but face their own seemingly insurmountable obstacles. As do Endelle, the Guardian of Ascension, and Rex, the Creator of Paradise Three. Yolanda has been hiding a powerful seer from her father, Chustaffus, with plans to reveal him when the time is right to curry his favor. And the battle of the forces of good and evil continue, with Rapture's Edge as the prize.
I received a book from the author. The review I give because I want to.
Lately I've been enjoying these books so much that I'm losing myself in the story and not paying attention that it's getting near the end. The last two (Revealed and The Veil) I got to "The End" and was shocked. The story does come to a conclusion, although the background story will continue. If you read this one you get a resolution to the couple in the story.
This book continues Rachel and Duncan's story, along with a little of Owen and his breh-hedden Katlynn. Rachel and Duncan still have a lot to work out in the book, and it goes anything but smoothly.
Nor does the 'revealing' of Rapture's Edge go smoothly, with twists and turns and a very sad moment that'll make you want to cry. Characters continue to grow and a big reveal (other than that of Rapture's Edge) is in the book.
We have warriors showing moments of being human, and not the tough alpha guys they normally are. That's not the shocker. That's reserved for Endelle being the sympatric 'friend' … didn't know she had it in her, and we find a couple interesting things about her past during this dialog. Yep, the Queen of Snark is still around and has some of the best snarky lines, but it does show that she can be, well, for lack of a better word, sweet. (Makes you want to read it just to figure out what I'm talking about doesn't it).
This book was provided a copy of this book with absolutely no requirement for a review I voluntarily read this book and the comments are my honest opinion.
