Product Description

The B-2 bomber was developed as a successor to the outdated B-52 and as an alternative to the unfavorable B-1 bomber. A special, absorbing coating renders the Stealth bomber invisible to radar. The first flight took place at the Edwards AFB on 17.7.1989. Four General Electric F 118-GE 100 engines give the B-2 a maximum speed of 764 km/h at a service altitude in excess of 15,000 meters. Its range when fully laden is 10.00 km, or about 19,000 km with air refuelling.

A very good example of America's latest bomber. The model is rather simple, but builds up into a great replica of the STEALTH Bomber. It took a little effort to make this bird a " flight " model, but the kit lends itself very nicely to that. For those who prefer a"static" model, it takes no effort at all! I recommend this kit to all of you who want a very good model of this amazing aircraft.

Unnecessarily bad model

First the company that sold and shipped the product is fine.

The product however has several errors:

1 The landing gear is exceptionally small - it's almost impossible not to snap in handling/assembly.
2 The tolerances are very poor. Many parts require filing, cutting and sanding.
3 The alignment is off; the wings, landing gear and doors are slightly off center. This in unnecessary and could have been designed away.
4 There are more parts in areas than required, which leads to some of the above issues.

All of these issues are not required and are artifacts of poor model design.

The only disappointment was I thought the model would be unpainted and I thought it was a glue together yourself. It's prepainted but it does come with sticker decals for you to place; it snaps into place rather than a glue it yourself.

Bausatz mit kleinen Macken

Der Versand war , natürlich, schnell und Problemlos.
Verpackung groß genug, somit konnte der Bausatz uch nicht beschädigt werden.
Ich habe mir diesen Bausatz gekauft, da mich die B-2 seit meiner Jugend fasziniert.
Nun zum Bausatz selbst, die Form ist aus dem Jahre 1993 somit ist er nicht mit einen Bausatz aus heutiger Zeit zu Vergleichen, d.h. das zum Beispiel beim Zusammenbau der Flügel mit dem Rumpf ein kleiner Spalt bleibt, ist zwar nicht sehr schön aber auf die weitere distanz nicht merkbar..
Sonst pssaen die Teile im großen und ganzen zusammen.
Ein großes Manko sind die Decals, da sie viel zu groß sind, und viel transparente Flächen haben, die auf der Matt-schwarz lackieten Oberfläche gar nicht gut rüberkommen.
ich hab auch noch versucht mit dem Revell-Softener etwas zu verbessern aber es blieb so...
Naja alles in Allem bin ich zufrieden mit dem Modell.
Aber wie gesagt man merkt, das er schon etliche jahre am Buckel hat.
Abschließen kann ich noch dazu sagen ,w enn man den Lfieger nicht lackiert, kommt er trotzdem gut rüber, ist also auch für Kinder ab 11-12 Jahre baubar, da er nicht allzu schwer ist, und die Bedienungsanleitung leicht lesbar.

Not a bad kit but, many of the parts, especially the landing gear, are very fragile and fiddly. In fact, imho, this is the fiddlyist kit I've worked on for years - unless my fingers are getting fatter!

For the scale, this makes up into an impressive and, to my mind, a quite eerie looking vehicle.

Update: I've finished the model now and recommend using Humbrol DecalFix for putting on the transfers as some of them are very flimsy and awkward and impossible unless you can slide them about easily , the DecalFix makes the job easy.

Die B2 ist technisch gesehen wohl eines der anspruchvollsten Flugzeuge unserer Zeit. Die ungewöhnliche Form stammt aus der Zeit der Horten-Brüder.
Der Bausatz hat mich etwas enttäuscht. Die Passgenauigkeit der Teile war ausreichend, aber nicht besonders gut. Das Cockpit mußte auf Spannung eingebaut werden, viele Dichtflächen der Formen waren nicht exakt, und die Teile mußten nachbearbeitet werden. Da die Teilezahl sehr übersichtlich ist, ist der Bausatz auch für Einsteiger gut geeignet.
In die Spirit muß ein Gewicht geklebt werden (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten und kein Gewicht angegeben), damit der Vogel auch auf dem Bugrad stehen bleibt.
Lediglich die Decals (langestreckt und dünn) erfordern Geduld und eine ruhige Hand.
