J.P. Chandler was born and raised in California, where he now resides with his wife of many years. He uses writing in the genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy as his excuse for pursuing interests in history, science, and culture, among many others. He first started writing at the age of fourteen. He has been a waiter, a delivery driver, a furniture repairman, a pizza maker, and a small equipment mechanic. He has also been a teacher, a coach, an editor, and an attorney. And he speaks French.

His first professional sale was a short story in “Tales from the Lyon’s Den,” part of the Four Horsemen Universe. You can get a free copy on his website, www.funfictionstories.com. The first novel, They Call Me Princess, was published in 2020, followed by Revenant in 2022. More novels are in the works.

Revenant is the sequel to Princess and is set in The Fallen World series, The story follows the adventures of the same characters introduced in the first novel. I enjoyed reading the book. The novel was entertaining, has good action scenes, a lot of intrigue, and has a nice flow. There are new problems from outside the Bubble Kelly, Scott and their friends must deal with. The story ends on an intense cliff hanger that leaves the reader wanting more!

Princess is up to her ears in problems and family, and they are often the same thing! Old new people are causing problems in the Bubble and surrounding areas and they all need the attention of Princess. As each fire is put out flames seem to arise even higher. The ending leaves me feeling anxious and frustrated, but that is good! Can’t wait to see how this story wraps up!

Book 15 requires a nuanced recollection of many characters from the earlier Princess stories. It also ends abruptly in a minor cliffhanger with few issues resolved. In both respects, it reads like an excerpt from the middle of a longer book. It is NOT a viable standalone story. In retrospect, I would not have considered reading this book until the Princess storyline was complete.

I really enjoyed this story!! While it can stand on its own, I went back first and re-read "They Call Me Princess" and then went right into "Revenant" (HINT HINT!!) The characters in the story develop very nicely and this includes the secondary characters as well. The sister and brother duo get thrown for a loop when their father shows up with his own plans for the BUBBLE. A surprise turn/kink in the story at the end makes me want the next one in the series to be released soon - Like tomorrow!!! By the way - GREAT cover art!!!!

Another fine Fallen World story

Following the first story, "Princess" (also highly recommended), the overall background is, after the Corporate Wars which nearly put America back in the stone age, the survivors have formed communities and groups that protect those communities. Occasionally in those groups are agents, assassins, and other "imprinted" corporate super-humans. When they are tasked, the action is fast and furious.....and sometimes these super-humans retain their humanity and become part of the community. Great action, intrigue, and characters, including at intelligent "Ladycat" You'll love this book!
