This is a great series. I like how the world building is deftly mixed into the narrative and not crammed into two boring pages of nothing but facts. The mystery is the main part and the magic is really treated as part of the background. I thoroughly enjoyed bathe first book and the second did not disappoint.

A good sequel to The Gambler Grimoire. A dead professor with CIA ties brings a number of people with ties to her past to Wicklow.
There some interesting hints of history that diverges from our timeline and a few hints about Savannah past.
I look forward to another sequel.

This is the second book set at the Wicklow College of the Arcane Arts with Professor Savanna Robinson.

I enjoyed the return to this of an alternate earth where practicing witches and technology co-exist. Combining urban fantasy and mystery, with the well written characters and dialogue typical of B.R. Kingsolver’s books, this story captured me from the first page.

I finished it in 24 hours.
If you enjoy urban fantasy and a good mysteries you will enjoy this book.

I am hopeful there will be a 3rd book in this series

This story includes more world building, and back story of the protagonist Dr Savanna Robinson, you might want to read book one first, but this story is mostly self contained. Now I have to wait who knows how long for the next book.
