I own many of the Revereware copper bottom pans. I have the same pan, but need to replace it due to an accident. This is absolutely not a good product any longer. The "plastic" handle is different, lightweight and heats up. You need to use a hot pad with it. Additionally, the "stainless steel" is not the same thickness as my other Reverware pans. Either this is a knockoff or the company has lowered it's quality standards. Either way, moving forward, I will only purchase these pans if I can view them for myself.
There are bluish, black spots all on the bottom, and flame marks coming up the sides; I have never turned the heat up too high on my gas stove.
These are NOT the Revere pans I remember so well growing up, that my parents and grandparents used almost every night; these are almost a joke, and certainly are not worth the money at all. I have seen pans from the local dollar store that have more metal and weight to them!
Not only was I disappointed in such poor quality, but I was also very sad that something of such high quality of times past does not exist any longer. When purchasing this pan, I was trying to get back a little bit of comforting past, but instead of comfort, all I got was extreme disappointment.
As a comparison, I weighed my 30 year old made in USA pan and the new pan. The new pan weighs 304 grams and the old pan weighs 290 grams. Of course I cannot say where the extra weight comes from, but they seem to have the same dimensions for the pan as well as the handle.
At least I can be sure that the new pan does not have significantly less material.
As for buckling or rocking, I would be surprised to see this happen to this saucepan. A saucepan is normally filled with a liquid that should keep the temperature along the bottom of the pan even and below the boiling point. (As opposed to a frying pan.)
I've had these pots for about a year now and even though they seem sturdy they do not hold up to high heat as well as the older models. The biggest problem I've had with these pots is how easily they stain. I still think these pots are OK, but I don't think they will hold up very long at all. The copper bottoms seem to be very thin as well. I had a burn through on one of the pots in the first week.

This saucepan has performed reliably, and five years later, I'm still really happy with this purchase!
