Product Description

Please note that the lens hood may cause slight 'vignetting' (edges appear in view) on the 18-55 lens when zoomed out to the widest angle. This occurs with all universal hoods on the 18-55 at the widest angle. The universal reversible lens hood is a convenient inexpensive alternative for use with multiple lenses.
Please see the images at the top of the page for instructions on how to mount the Goja Reversible Lens Hood.

- New Improved Design (May 2013) - Professional Reversible Tulip Lens Hood
- Finally a 58mm hood that you can keep on your camera at all times. Simply screw the base of the hood onto your 58mm lens. Then snap the body of the hood on the lens facing OUT when you want to use the hood OR facing IN when you want to store the hood in a bag with no wasted space. The only universal lens hood on the market that lets you use a lens cap while having your hood mounted. Super quick and easy release.

- Easy to use screw-mount screws right onto your lens or filter.
- Lens hoods are one of the most important accessories you can purchase to improve the quality of your photos, and usually the most overlooked by beginner and amateur photographers. The addition of a lens hood can help prevent those circles of light that can accompany images where a strong light source is just outside the frame.
- Please confirm your lens filter size before you order. Your camera's lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or on the inside of your existing camera lens cap. This number is often preceded by a "Ø" (diameter) symbol. For example: Ø58 = 58mm lens thread size.

BEWARE - Do not buy this product. The measurement is slightly OFF, by probably a fraction of a millimeter...
I am using a Canon 70D with an EFS18-55mm lens (standard lens) with a 58mm opening.

ISSUE #1:
The ring that mounts onto the lens does goes on smoothly but is slightly smaller than 58mm and will therefore pop right off with a slight nudge.

ISSUE #2:
Perhaps the locking ring is correct, but since the mounting ring is slightly off - the locking ring does not secure very well either and pops right off with a nudge and will not hold the tulip securely.

ISSUE #3:
The way the tulip mounts onto the mounting ring is very sticky and/or tight and therefore, when trying to take the tulip OFF, it knocks the mounting ring right off of the lens.

CONCLUSION:
Don't be as much of a tightwad like me... spend a few more dollars for something that has a better rating and that does not come in multiple pieces.

Item was exactly as shown and described. The hood fit my Canon Rebel T3i camera perfectly. I am very pleased with the quality of the product v. price. Its light weight and sturdy, yet doesn't take up a lot of room in the camera bag. I would order from them again - in fact, I have. The down side of this hood I discovered is that when my lens focuses, the highs and lows of the hood rotate with the lens. I am told it will be handy for lenses that don't rotate, but I have also now ordered the rubber lens hood too - In fact, one for me and one for my husband for a stocking stuffer. The freebie gift of the cleaning cloth is a very welcome item also. Nice size and cleaned well.

The lens hood works fine on the zoom setting but when the lens is at the wide angle, the edges of the hood show on the pictures.

I have no complaints of this lens hood for the price. It works well and I leave it facing outward 100% of the time to help protect the lens. My only gripe is it is difficult now to get the lens cap on the lens and it almost refuses to stay on inside this lens hood. Regadless, for the price I would recommend it as I'm someone who shoots occasional short films, commercials, and weddings on the side. I wouldn't recommend it for a professional...but that should already be obvious.

This lens hood is NOT meant to mount directly onto your lens. It is meant to screw onto a filter. (clear, ND, polar).
It mounts to the filter and the thin nut that is spun on is used to lock down the hood base even more. (by rotating the nut back towards the lens it acts as a double nut, giving better hold)

The hood seems like it is pretty durable and can withstand some beating.
I haven't had a chance to test this in real conditions yet, (going hiking soon and if anything changes, I will try and update this)

Because this is a pedal hood it will not work with the old 18-55 mm lens (the one I got with my T1i kit) because the focusing mechanism rotates the lens/filter, thus rotating the hood as well. Obviously this applies to any external focusing lens.

I would like to note the false advertising here. It mentions that it will work with a Canon 10-22mm lens. That is a lie. The side pedals are visible in the shot when zoomed wide. Once you zoom in to 14mm they aren't a problem. ANYONE WITH A LENS WIDER THEN 14MM CANNOT USE THIS PRODUCT. Other than that, the threads are really cheap plastic. Mine even has an error and I have to force the thing to screw on the lens. Honestly I am not putting this on my $600 lens again for the fear I might strip the threads. Spend the extra bit of money and get a better lens hood. Other than that I have no complaints, but WATCH OUT for Vignetting!

Item work great on an T3 Rebel. Little bit tight, but works great. Really helps to keep the sun out on bright days to make those great outdoor shots possible.

The hood is made of what seems like sub-standard plastic. A few minutes after getting it out of the bag and trying to attach it to my Nikon camera the hood itself broke in half so I unhappily super-glued it and after a few minutes when the glue dried I tried it again and part of the plastic that runs along the threads broke into a long shard! I super-glued it again and it finally managed to stay in one piece long enough for me to mount it to the camera but that wasn't the end of my woes; the hood causes some terrible vignetting and I suspect its because of the size of the mounting base and to make matters worse I am unable to mount a filter in the front of the base so I have to screw the base into the filter pushing the hood out further making the vignetting even worse.

I don't like to be a harsh person but after my experience I would not recommend this hood to anyone!
