It was wonderful to have someone who knew how to translate this book from English into comprehensible French. I learned a number of ways to use certain slang words in French that I had never heard before.The translation was so well done I did not have to hunt for the meaning of these words, I only examined them withing the context of the situation presented. As a matter of fact I was at page 135 before I had to look up any word I did not know.
The book is available in English, but I buy all my books in one of the four languages I'm studying, I feel it provides the reader with an opportunity to learn the language and also to gain insight on the topic discussed at the same time. Now if they would only get some books in Swahili for adults and some in Spanish about famous leaders. in South America and Mexico, instead of focusing on romance and spirituality. I'll hold aside my desire for the Arabic books; I'm not really ready for that one. When I was posted to Egypt, it took me nearly a year to write "By Air" on my envelopes to America, in a manner that my Egyptian co-workers understood what I meant. They let me know the first time this happened. I thought, "You mean you've been trying all this time to read it.? So you see how far I have to go in learning this language..
