About the Author
Dr M. Murat Yucesahin is Associate Professor at Ankara University, Faculty of Language and History-Geography, Department of Geography, Turkey. After received his PhD from the Institute of Social Sciences at Ankara University in 2002, Dr Yucesahin’s major research area is population geography. In 2011, as a collaborator researcher, Dr. Yucesahin participated to the World Population Programme at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria and worked on Turkey’s fertility, mortality and migration trends and sub national level population projection. His current research primarily focuses on feminist geography, population geography, and urban social geography. In addition to his many currently academic works, Dr. Yucesahin is managing editor of Goc Dergisi (Migration Journal) . Dr Pinar Yazgan is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Sakarya University, Turkey. She received her BA, MA and PhD in Sociology, all from Sakarya University Her PhD research focused on the sense of identity and belonging amongst migrants from Turkey in Denmark, and she is also a research grant recipient from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. She conducted field work in Denmark between 2007 and 2009 while also serving as a visiting researcher at the Danish National Research Centre for Social Sciences. Her recent research focuses on the integration of different generations of migrants from Turkey in Drammen, Norway. Her research interests include transnationalism, mobility, gender and critical discourse analysis with a special focus on migrants. Dr Yazgan is Book Review Editor of Migration Letters. She is also one of the editors of Goc Dergisi (Migration Journal) and regular contributor of The Migration Conferences.
