The Revivalist Manifesto might just be the seminal political book of this coming era.

On November 2nd, 2021, an earthquake hit American politics. A massive red wave materialized in Virginia and New Jersey—a pair of reliably Democratic states that had voted in the double digits to make Joe Biden president—and ultimately swept Democrats from power in the state house. Then, voters nearly removed New Jersey governor Phil Murphy, who was previously thought to be impregnable.

What brought on this red wave?

The American people are thirsty for something new in politics. They’ve rejected the establishments of both parties, but aren’t quite sure what the future of the nation should be. The Virginia and New Jersey upsets indicate a great opportunity for a redefined, and newly refined, center-right movement to seize the moment and forge a new American consensus.
The Revivalist Manifesto defines that movement, which includes Donald Trump but is larger and longer lasting, and explores the moment we’re in.

Advance Praise for The Revivalist Manifesto

"Scott McKay has written an eyes-open manifesto describing how patriotic Americans can retake their country from the race hustlers, climate fanatics and diversity ideologues who aim to destroy it. Mr. McKay makes no bones about the troubles we are in. The anti-American coalition has taken control of vast areas of American life, including the schools, colleges, journalism, and even many corporations. Yet he is convinced that Americans working together can revive and renew conservative principles, while dislodging the leftists from their cultural redoubts. The Revivalist Manifesto is an important book for many reasons, but most of all because it outlines a path forward in a time of doubt, confusion, and despair."
-James Piereson, President William E. Simon Foundation

"A compelling trumpet blast for a muscular conservatism with no apologies. Scott McKay's
The Revivalist Manifesto is a no-holds-barred huge helping of history and solid arguments for what a real resistance to the leftist agenda destroying America would look like. The Revivalist Manifesto takes on the RINOs and the apologists for the Left that explains where we are, how we got here, and what we need to do about it."
-Daniel Greenfield, Front Page Magazine

"Conservatives now have a fantastic blueprint for opposing, not only the leftists who work to hobble the people, but also the half hearted party members who simply serve as allies of the opposition. Scott McKay's The Revivalist Manifesto establishes solid grounds to get us back, beyond the MAGA path, to improve the lives of every American. Thanks to his handbook we can go ULTRA MAGA."
-Eric F. Skrmetta, co-Chairman (Louisiana), Donald J Trump for President (2016, 2020).

"Scott McKay has written a treatise on where conservatism has come from, but more importantly, where conservatism should go. His is an optimistic vision that will revitalize America if embraced. Conservative leaders take note!"
-Melissa Mackenzie, Publisher,
The American Spectator

"Kudos to Scott McKay for exploring the times in American history where revival has meant survival. McKay articulately makes the case for the revivalism needed now to ensure America remains the greatest country in the world."
-Jeff Landry, Attorney General, Louisiana

A political journalist, pundit, web publisher and bestselling author of seven books in both fiction and non-fiction, Scott McKay is one of the most prolific writers in the industry today.

McKay is the publisher of The Hayride, an award-winning culture and politics site based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which has covered Southern and national current events since 2009. Scott is also Senior Editor at the conservative mainstay publication The American Spectator, where he has written regular columns since 2012.

Scott first added "author" to his curriculum vitae with the publication of his first novel Animus: A Tale of Ardenia, in 2019. Animus was followed in short succession with three other Tales of Ardenia novels: Perdition (2020), Retribution (2021) and Quandary (2022).

In 2022 Bombardier Books published Scott's first political book The Revivalist Manifesto: How Patriots Can Win the Next American Era. The Revivalist Manifesto is the distillation of much of Scott's work at The Hayride and the American Spectator, outlining the need and opportunity to form a new American political consensus in which a rethought conservative movement assumes leadership and creates a national revival. The Revivalist Manifesto hit #1 on Amazon's Comparative Politics chart in December 2023.

In 2023, Calamo Press published Scott's second political book Racism, Revenge and Ruin: It's All Obama. Racism, Revenge and Ruin traces the radical background and origins of Barack Obama and outlines the depths of the "fundamental transformation" of America along cultural, economic and political lines - including how that transformation, along with Obama's influence, is continuing. Racism, Revenge and Ruin hit #1 on Amazon's Political Corruption chart in February 2024 following an interview Scott did with Tucker Carlson.

In the spring of 2024 Scott returned to fiction writing with the publication of his latest novel King of the Jungle, a satirical war story. King of the Jungle was initially serialized beginning in February at The American Spectator and then released on Amazon April 12.

Scott lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The Revivalist Manifesto is, despite the conservative orientation of its author in his writings for various publications, actually a relatively non-partisan book - in that McKay savages both the Left and the Right for the errors and foul deeds they've committed over the past half-century. Honest Americans would struggle to disagree with either takedown.

What's most interesting is the characterization of where we're going. This book might go against the grain a bit in predicting a wave election in 2022, but what McKay is saying is a new political era is coming - and that means successive elections, not just one. And that will either be true, or maybe elections won't really matter much anymore.

The guess here? He's right. But he's also right that the leadership of the Republican Party is not good enough to kick off this next era. We're seeing that this summer. And it may be that this book is a little ahead of its time - because we'll need a lot more Liz Cheney rejections before the GOP establishment in Washington can be replaced with something better.

This book gives a great assessment of America’s current political situation while giving the historical context as to how and why we are where we are. Scott was able to do in this book what Rush Limbaugh was able to do on the radio. A topic I enjoyed among the many, was the impact of communist ideology on the progress of black Americans. Scott gave a clear assessment of how the rabid left is bent on destroying our great country and the capitulation of weak-kneed corrupt politicians, especially to China.
He also provides solutions which will depend on our full embrace of our Judeo-Christian value—

Cannot recommend this book. Author very clearly conveys homophobic undertones that have no bearing on the points he’s trying to make.

Forget stilted academic verbiage and talking-head analysis. Throw away those bullet-ridden (and bullet-pointed) talking points. This book is like having a couple beers with your best buddy on a hot afternoon. Your damn smart best buddy. On a very hot afternoon.

The clarity of analysis, presented in a conversational way, that shows the research without being pedantic, is exactly the same cool relief in today’s political world, that those beers provide on a Baton Rouge August day.

Covering a periodicity of American politics going back to the hotly contested Adams-Jefferson election of 1800, Scott does an excellent job of creating foundational hope for the future of our nation, if only have the mettle to revive what we know to be sound policy and practice.

I devoured the prep work of the early chapters, nodding assent and true reverence for the manner in which it was presented, yet worrying that when it came time for “the money shot”, the hyper-inflated balloon of expectations would simply fly errantly around the room and fizzle out into a lump of latex in the corner. So glad I was wrong.

Not only does this book provide an actionable plan for beginning the needed revival that anyone can take up, there is also the promise of a next step volume, one I am excitedly awaiting.

Home run, Scott McKay…

This book is truly a playbook for modern America. What we are seeing across this country is a lack of patriotism, a lack of confidence in our country. This book is a well needed revitalization of the American dream that is so desperately needed. Once you start, you can’t stop and it truly opens your eyes to what is going on in modern American politics. Read this book. Talk about this book. Put this book into action. Kudos to Scott for this amazing read!

If you think American society and governance are just fine, this book is not for you. If you think we need to move further left, this book is not for you. If you think American society and governance need reform and are content to just read about the problems, you will get some of that. But I liked that this book goes further to suggests solutions and ways to fight back against the sick and corrupt establishment that dominates today. It actually gave me a few ideas for what I personally can do. I hope this book helps spark the revival that we need.

So many of us are keenly aware and disheartened by the downward trajectory of our nation due to failed ideology and leadership across all levels of government. McKay’s book does a fine job at detailing how we’ve gotten to this unfortunate point, and perhaps more importantly, plots a hopeful path towards reversing course.

He should be writing for The Weekly World News, just a bunch of gay-bashing right-wing nationalist vitriol.
