Editorial Reviews
Review
“Often, Barber’s stirring rhetoric—his use of anaphora, his skillful interweaving of academic research with folksy quotes from his grandmother—radiates off the page . . . . Inspiring.”

A man and a movement much needed in our troubled times. Although I am not a religious person, I felt myself drawn to the messages to the point of re-reading multiple passages and then feeling lifted in my heart and spirit. Hope someday to meet this inspired and inspiring man.

This collection examines fundamental values through speeches given by three reverend doctors regarding actions and morals in today’s unfriendly environment. The moral policy agenda put forth has five parts. The first is pro-labor anti-poverty policies that allows for economic democracy. Second is equality in education. Health care for all is third. Fairness in the justice system is fourth. Finally, fifth are equal protections under the law. Part one contains a speech that sets the agenda for each reverend. The set part consists of eleven chapters, each with a specific thesis followed by response from other contributors. A short biography of each contributor is provided at the end of his or her response.

Rev. Dr. Barber is a truly brilliant pastor and writer, currently encouraging the community of the United States to care for the poor. This book is as brilliant for moral organizing to action, and as inspiring as any reader may expect. It does not disappoint.
