For years I used Clairol, the kind that washes out after 6 shampoos. They stopped making these temporary products and all of them went to the longer lasting color. All wash out eventually as you know. Clairol was twice the price and I could not find a good color match. Revlon Colorsilk is easier on the hair and lasts 6-weeks- to two months. However, I my hair seems to really absorb color, so I can only leave this on my hair for 10-12 minutes or it will get darker than I like it. It is a quick and easy product and I will continue to use it as long as they do not monkey with it and come out with some new and improved version that does not work as well as this one.
really great coverage, tone, and covers the worst grays.. The only brand on the market that removes the most resistant grays! Can't believe it is also the cheapest brand on the market.. The softness after you color is not as great as other brands I liked.. But the shine and beautiful shade is there.. It is also true to color.. some brands like Clairol are often 1-2 shades darker than the color on the box. Revlon had a 10 minute one which was even more amazing (more shine, and bounce) , with no ammonia but for some reason they stopped making it..
Clairol has severely modified the product I was used to getting from them (out of 146 votes, 44 were one star only with horrendous stories about using this new product). I would like a shade lighter for Light Ash Brown, and I don't see any three dimensional highlights, but against that is set the fact that this product will NEVER damage your hair! I am very impressed.
Great product, very naturally looking. It is the ONLY brand I have tried that produces a true ash brown, true-to-nature. Hair looks gorgeous, silky, shiny and, most importantly, VERY NATURAL - it does not have that harsh, 'dyed' look. I used it numerous times to cover up various disastruous bleach jobs (sadly I experiment a lot with my hair) and the results were wonderful and consistent - my hair always looked supple and soft afterwards and had a natural colour as if it had never been bleached. I was never disappointed. Dye is very gentle on hair as (as far as I know) it is ammonia-free. However since it is a gentle dye, it will wash off a lot quicker than harsher, stronger dyes. This is the only downside to it. (I personally do not consider it a downside, as I was looking EXACTLY for a gentle dye that does not damage hair and is easy to get out if I get bored with it.) All in all, THE BEST light Ash brown I ever tried. Highly recommended. (My natural hair is a medium ash brown, caucasian hair. I do not know if it will work the same on asian or african hair without serious prior bleaching - pls do not attempt this unless after consulting with a professional hair colorist. On caucasian hair it delivers wonderful, consistent results).
