Everyone has the right to feel safe. That’s why we created Instinct – an app-enabled personal safety device that does more than just act as a panic button. With 1, 2, or 3 clicks, it texts contacts your live GPS location, a customizable message, and if you’re safe, uneasy, or in an emergency. Plus, Instinct has step tracking, the ability to locate lost keys, and other hidden talents. We designed it so you'll love carrying it with you every day, so it will be there if you ever need it.
Because safety is a universal need, we made Instinct for women and for men; for kids, teenagers, adults, and the elderly; for medical alerts; for runners; for travelers; for at-risk professionals; for hiking and camping; for students and teachers. For any time when you need help fast, can't reach your phone, can't make a call, can't talk, don't know your address, or need to be discreet – just trust your Instinct.
The battery lasts up to a year and is easily replaceable. Simply use the included wearable/keychain accessory to open the device’s battery door when it's time to change the battery.
To use Revolar Instinct, you must have a compatible smartphone. Instinct works with iPhone 5 or newer models operating on iOS 9.0 or above, and with most Android™ smartphones operating on Android 5.0 or above and manufactured by Samsung, LG, Google, and Huawei.
Revolar has a 45-day return policy and offers a 1-year limited warranty. To reach Revolar customer service, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
With multiple alerts levels, Revolar Instinct lets you send for support as soon as your gut tells you something is wrong. Just double-click to send Yellow Alerts to contacts with your live location and a custom message. Yellow Alerts can even make your phone ring with a pre-recorded voice on the other end of the line to excuse yourself from uncomfortable or awkward situations. That way, you can get the support you need before a situation becomes worse.
Instinct helps you find lost keys and other items, move more with step tracking, stay in touch with positive check-in messages, and get support in non-emergencies with Yellow Alerts. We designed Instinct so you love carrying it every day, so it will be there if you ever need it.
Instinct makes it fast and easy to reach out to loved ones with your live location and personal, pre-set instructions. Unlike other medical alert devices that can cost hundreds of dollars per year, Instinct has no ongoing fees or charges whatsoever.
Instinct gives students and kids a simple, fast way to ask for help from friends and family. Plus, hook Instinct onto a bag or backpack, and if misplaced, the Revolar app has a map that shows you where you last had it.
Instinct is much more than an emergency device – along with sending for help, it can be used to check in daily with family, count steps, track a user's GPS location with a Yellow Alert, make your phone ring to find it, and even find lost items like keys and bags.
Other personal safety devices tend to treat complex situations as 0-to-100 emergencies. We built Instinct after listening to 100s of survivors who wanted something to prevent bad situations from turning worse.
Describe your product in 3 words.
"Don't Panic" Button
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
After her sister was assaulted, Revolar Co-Founder Jackie Ros thought of a “magic button” that could call for help. The idea resonated with her Co-Founder, Andrea Perdomo, who fled violence in Colombia as a child. While the idea was initially to make a non-violent device for women's safety and self defense, it's amazing to see so many people use Revolar in so many different ways.
What makes your product special?
The best safety device is the one you wear every day. That’s why we continually add new features like safe check-ins, basic fitness tracking, "Find My Revolar" (and lost items), and "Ring Me" (to find your phone or to ditch an awkward situation). Unlike other emergency devices, Instinct is also extremely small (1"), has no fees, doesn't need recharging, and is attractive to wear on clothes or keys. Plus, in contrast to personal safety options like pepper spray or mace, Instinct is legal to carry everywhere (and can be taken on a plane).
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
Hearing from customers. Since we launched our original wearable in 2016, our users have sent out over 30,000 alerts! It makes our day every time someone tells us how we helped them get out of a bind.
