I can't stand cheating and I definitely can't stand weak female leads, and this one has both. No matter how many times the female character says they are strong... They have to back that up. Then we are supposed to believe he is so in love with her when he repeatedly cheats on her or just makes her look pathetic. Lastly her best friend was the opposite of any great friend. If a guy is constantly cheating on me and making me cry, my best friend is kicking his a** and not telling me to take him back and let him love me.
To be honest I didn't think I would love this after reading the blurb. Sexy revue dancer as the leading man??? Maybe as a hot side character but not as the main man we are supposed to fall in love with. I hated Josh! There were zero redeeming qualities about this guy. The guy was a straight up manwhore in every sense of the word. He unashamedly screwed every woman insight and this didn't stop when he met our leading lady Cori.
Although I didn't hate Corrine I didn't find much to love about her either. It's hard to respect a woman who despite telling us how much she believes in true love continues to go back to the guy who is an ass to her 90% of the time. She pretty much ruins any tolerance I had left for her when she screws her man's friend and fellow dancer Brad out of revenge. Although I got to say Brad was one upside to this book and I was actually pulling for Brad and Cori to get together.
The best part of the book was the Epilogue. Why...because it was told from Josh's POV. Finally we get to the end and I start to like Josh? Damn! Just wish this was dual POV so we could get in his head to see what he was thinking and why.
I loved that Ms Golland clearly did something outside her norm but this just wasn't for me. Time to go back and re-read Temptation Series (best series EVER!) So I can remember a real sexy male stripper, Bryce.
Honestly speaking, so to write, Revue is the first book that I have read from KM Golland. However I have had a couple readers tell me that Revue is not her norm of a writing style. Well, I won’t address those statements, but what I will say is that for me, while reading, I was having fun. I picked up this book and from the very first page I had a smile on my face; that smile didn’t leave even up to the very end.
Revue is more of a light story, funny even with just enough sarcasm that makes you love the main female character Cori. But don’t fret KM does know how to write some seriously sexy romance! HOT, steamy, Gyrating arousal. I mean c’mon, Cori is commissioned to tour with and photograph the members of an all-male revue group named Wild Nights. Now picture all that testosterone in one spot day in and day out, and you are the only female… well lucky for Cori not all of the members are like you just pictured ha-ha but the undeniable lust driven attraction she has towards one man in particular, Josh Adams resident walking sex on a stick, just might be the very undoing of it all. And to make matters even harder (no pun intended) Josh has a desperate need to make Cori surrender herself to him. But she’s not exactly what he thinks she is and that’s where in lies the conflict. The push pull struggle between these two is downright hilarious and explosively sensual, all at the same time.
So what is it that I’m trying to say?Read more ›
Corinne (Cori) has a dream job she is photographing an entire tour of Australia’s hottest strip dudes. Hells yes!! The book starts off with smut so you know I was happy. But then it takes a predictable turn. Josh, our hero, becomes enthralled with Cori because she denies him when most chics fall at his feet. Cori keeps proclaiming how NOT her type Josh is. Yet…well you get the picture.
Josh is a douche. Sexy but a douche. There was actually not a single thing I liked about this guy. I kept reading hoping that he would change, maybe fall of the stage and develop amnesia, just something to make this book better. Sadly that did not happen. There was not a single redeeming quality about this guy and she wasn’t any better. I give this book 2.5 stars. 2 stars for the sexy time and the performance scenes, .5 for the cover model. Hot Damn.
