Because of who her father is, Andressa “Andi” Amaro lived and breathed racing. But after a childhood trauma, she swore of men who lived to raced.
Andi gets offered a dream job, so she finds herself back into the racing game and because she's a beautiful female, she finds it even harder to prove to others that she is just one of the guys. And she was unprepared to come face-to-face with the well-known player, Carrick.
I loved Carrick's cocky attitude. He's confident and full of sarcastic humor, plus he's got that Irish charm *insert swooning*! And when he first meets Andi, he's attitude doesn't seem to stop him on hitting on his new teammate. But Andi quickly puts a stop to that, but it doesn't mean she feels the attraction between them.
Carrick and Andi dance around their feelings throughout this book. They try being friends, but the attraction and all the drama becomes a hold-up for these two. There's plenty of angst that happens over the course of their time working together. But can Andi tame this bad boy? And can Carrick convince Andi to take a chance? Revved is a must read that is quick and easy!
As always, Ms. Towle knows how to suck us in with her characters and stories and Revved is no different! (come on, she did give us the one and only Jake Wethers!).
I loved the whole F1 scene, I’ve loved watching F1 for as long as I can remember, watching you’re favourite win and being extremely nervous whilst watching the race is truly an insane feeling, goodness knows how their families and friends feel, definitely 10x the feelings I feel that’s for sure.
I loved the characters, Andi and Carrick’s story has been interesting. The start Damn near broke my heart, that poor poor girl and then watching her trying to deal with the feelings throughout the book just hurt my heart. She’s so brave and strong, I couldn’t do it. Carrick’s backstory is sad, it’s a shame what the poor lad had to go through but that only made him stronger and more in touch with his emotions even when he didn’t know how to control them. Then there’s the secondary characters Pet and Ben and Uncle Paul, they were all fab and it was great to watch them all bond.
I enjoyed the storyline minus a couple bits but all in all it was great.
Now for the part I didn’t like at all it seriously irked me, when she decided she didn’t give a fook about her job that she’s “loved” doing all her life to drop her panties for this freaking guy, seriously?
“If I lose my job, so be it. All I care about is having Carrick kiss me, touch me and make me feel amazing”
That was so freaking disappointing, seriously had a hard time reading the sex that followed, I had to skip past it all because just no. Then to wake up the next morning regretting it, bugger off.
“Are you worried that you’ll lose your job?” My eyes widen with the shock of her words, worry hitting me full throttle. “Well, I wasn’t, but I am now. Do you think I’ll lose my job because I slept with him?”
She wasn’t worried when she was dropping her panties and screwing the guy, she didn’t care, seriously, this part just really irritated me and had me skipping past some parts.
But even with that part it was an enjoyable read, yes I wanted to throat punch the main character but what good book doesn’t make you feel something? I love a book that can anger me then make me love it ahah. The author did amazing with this book, it’s my first read from her and I’m looking forward to be reading more in the future.
