But that’s not all. It also has a Comic-Con (complete with Stormtrooper jokes), a protagonist with serious emotional baggage, a steamy, kinky, slow-burn romance, and an HEA that was genuine and deeply satisfying.
In other words, it was just about perfect.
Rewritten, by Bronwyn Green, tells the story of Angus Domhnull, the afore-mentioned sexy Scotsman. He’s a wildly successful sci-fi author who’s been struggling to complete his latest book for five years when his publisher sends him one Eliza Burrows to help him get his ass in gear.
And oh, those characters!
Angus is the perfect mix of grumbling sass and sex appeal, with a depth and sensitivity that make him nigh irresistible.
Eliza, however, tries her best to resist.
Poor Eliza has a heartbreakingly believable backstory, but she’s not a victim. Instead, she’s rebuilt her life (under an assumed name – yes, her backstory is that bad), and she’s moving on. When Eliza decides to stay the hell away from men, especially men with a kinky side, she’s got damn good reasons.
But Bronwyn Green pulls these characters together, slowly and naturally, until the sizzling sexual tension between them was just about killing me.
And that’s when the story got really interesting! 😉
I won’t ruin any surprises for you, my friend. Just check it out for yourself, and take my word for it – you won’t regret a thing!
The dynamic between Angus and Eliza was heartwarming, even a bit inspiring. I was fascinated by the peek behind the scene of writing a book.
Then there was the emotional trauma of Libby/Eliza. OMG! My thoughts here are: this is fiction, but so true. A rather disturbing issue of today's society handled in a way that entertains and informs. I was impressed. And so loved the resolution.
If you have read anything by this author and/or in this series, you don't want to miss this book. A must read. If you are new to this author, this is a good place to start. Rewritten reads well as a stand alone and is so worth the read.
Angus and Eliza are so fully formed and fleshed out, that I didn't want their story to end.
But as far as my kind book catnip goes, Eliza is a strong heroine dealing with her own backstory (and comes with a necessary trigger warning) and Angus is the brooding hero that we all love.
I give Bronywn Green's Rewritten a solid 5/5 and would recommend to anyone needing a little kind with their HEA.
Bronwyn Green has a talent for writing heros and heroines with pasts that make them sympathetic and relatable. From the very beginning, I loved Eliza and Angus and rooted for their happy ending.
Definitely pick this one up. It'll light your fire!

I’m surprised I enjoyed Rewritten so much because it’s full of kinky filthiness and that’s not my typical juju, but Gawd it’s so well written I was...Read more
