The bad: The DS version is full of bugs. I could only play the game for about an hour and a half before the first bug appeared: the game's screens went black while the music still played, leaving me frustrated. Even when I reloaded my game and tried to change some settings (party members and attacks), the game froze again. Apparently this is not a unique problem and one person had to trade in their game cartridge four times before finding a working copy.
Also, the songs are in Japanese. This is more of a personal preference than a problem or a real negative. In the original PS version, the songs were in English and I grew accustomed to hearing them in English. Again, not a real negative, just a personal preference.
Let's make something clear: Rhapsody is not hard. It's not difficult in the slightest. Sometimes it's a bit vague about where you're supposed to go or who you're supposed to talk to, but eventually you can figure it out with little trouble. The story line is linear, so if you're looking for choices that make a big impact on gameplay and where the story progresses... don't buy this game.
If you want a quick, fun to play game with charming graphics and characters, then pick this game up. It's a good bargain and it's adorable.
So when I saw it was re-released on the DS I knew I had to have it. There are some slight differences (like the combat system, which makes this already easy game even easier than it already was.)
Really though, if you are a first-time player and interested in picking this up for a younger audience, you should give it a try! The story line and the characters are endearing, you have a young women saving her prince, but it's also really story about family, friendship, & love. It can also be pretty funny.

The graphics are quite crisp and clear. Best of all the graphics really fit the cute and charming theme, which at first I thought might be a put off. There done well and set the "don't take the game to seriously" mood, which works well with this game.
The story is very straight forward and simple, which again works well in this game because of the fun loving theme. Basically you play a girl named Cornet who has a crush on the prince. The prince is turned to stone and kidnapped by a group of "kinda sorta" bad girls. (even the bad guys in this game are not really bad) Cornet and her puppets go on a quest to find the cure for petrification, then enter the enemies stronghold to rescue the prince.
As far as value goes this is where the game comes up short. It only took me 15 hours to finish the game and there is no game+ replay value. To be fair though the game was only $20 so I don't feel ripped off.
- The fun and cute factor is high and its fun to play.
- Characters are entertaining
- Good use of theme really sets the mood well.
- Combat is to easy and can be set to auto through out the whole game.
- To short and no replay value
from what i gather from playing the first chapter your a girl chasing after some dude that youll never have a chance with if you know what i mean ;) but in another sense this rpg is geared more towards females to begin with so it makes since to have a story like that.
I do like nisa but i think this is a flop for me. But if your a female wanting to get into the genre your boyfriend spends countless hours on instead of you then be my guest and buy this game so you can ignore him XD
