Perfect for a busy kitchen, suitable for one-shower. Always buy the service valves too.

Rheem makes a high quality product. I've owned several. The biggest challenge is always determining which size model will be adequate. Let me just say that this model is PLENTY for our kitchen sink. And, it would be fine for a single shower use in anywhere other than the Artic Circle. You'd definitely want a larger model for whole-house use. Next, do realize that all tankless water heaters require about half-gallon to run through them before truly hot water arrives. There's no way around it... meaning, 'instant' isn't really instant. Lastly, calcium builds-up on all water immersed devices over time, even these smaller model tankless heaters. So ALL tankless water heaters should be installed with the service valves. The valves enable you to run concentrated vinegar (sold on Amazon) or CLR through the heater once or twice a year. Doing so will remove the inevitable calcium that'll eventually reduce efficiency and even stop the various sensors from doing their job. Troubleshooting these units is no fun, especially when you're about to take a shower! De-calcifying is the key to these things' longevity.

As a point of service unit, this shines. Most point of service units fall flat for shower, where a large amount of water needs heated quickly. The difference- Rheem's quality, and the adjustable temp to 140°F. For a small household, this is all you need. It runs on one double pull breaker, so even a small electrical panel can handle this. A low flow shower head, which is a good thing for the environment anyhow, and endless hot showers are yours with an outstanding warranty to boot! Of any point of service, I believe this to be the best choice.

Purchased over a year ago. My house uses a boiler to heat the water. During the winter, due to the way my pipes are laid and the distance to the boiler, one of my bathrooms could not get decent hot water in the shower. I installed this unit to help increase the temperature. Works perfectly. Kids now can take hot showers during the winter and don’t bug me to use my shower. Install was relatively straight forward assuming you’ve done some level of wiring in the past. I do get flickering with some lights in my house while it’s running. It has to be something with the unit, though we’ve lived with it for over a year..it’s not the end of the world. Overall happy with it.

Nice unit. Love the way the digital thermostat lights up only when you're adjusting it. That's smart. I'm using it to supply 4 sinks that happen to be closely located as a consequence of how my house is laid out. After using it for over a year, my gut feel is that it would be inadequate for a shower. But wonderful for sinks especially if the pipe length is short. I've calibrated it for Warm. That way turning on a sink's Hot valve gives me quick warm water with no fiddling!

A high quality unit. Runs off one 50A breaker. Not much water throughput. Can just run one shower with low flow shower head. That is good enough for me. The really good feature is that you can run a very slow flow and this rig still regulates the temperature well. That means by lowering the flow, say at a kitchen faucet, you can get very hot water, albeit at a slow flow. MAKE SURE you use a lot of teflon tape on the non-tapered pipe fittings. Pipe dope liquifies on the hot side. On the plus side, non-tapered thread to pipe thread adapters are included in the box.

The on demand heater gives me hot water quickly and keeps going in my home office annex. It's perfect for its intended use (essentially supporting a one office/one bedroom annex).
