I bought one of these and then went back and bought 2 more. I was going to give them away but couldn't part with them. I have one in our basement, one in the kitchen and one upstairs. I also own 3-4 label makers that "type".
What I like is the convenience of not having to hunt for labels. I usually just feed the length of label I will need cut it with the built-in cutter and then write on it - mostly using a regular pen. If need be I then re-cut to desired length with scissors. If a smaller label is desired, just cut length wise with scissors and you have a spare left over. I really like that the labels split in the center for easy removal of backing. (Hint: pull apart from center rather than ends).
These labels are great for labeling hanging and regular file folders.
