From the Back Cover
From the Iniminiminimitable Sandra Boynton comes 15 quirky and captivating songs for kids.
TaDAAAAA! Here at looong last is the impatiently awaited release of Rhinoceros Tap, Sandra Boynton's first book/recording set—completely redesigned, and now with a spiffy CD instead of a cranky old cassette tape. (Cassette tapes are SO Last Millenium.)
The terrific musical theater actor Adam Bryant performs with zest and subtlety these 15 unpredictable original songs. This exuberant set is the perfect companion volume to the #1 national bestseller, Philadelphia Chickens.
With lyrics and pictures by Boynton and music written with and played by the one and only Michael Ford (actually, there are probably quite a few Michael Fords, but this one is a really good musician), these songs have the style, swing, charm, and pizzazz that little listeners deserve.
Read along! Sing along! Oink along! Or maybe just listen.

Our favourites include:
~The Crabby Song
~O, Lonely Peas... which my daughter and I enjoy belting out together!
Others are not as popular, and we sometimes find ourselves fast forwarding through them... such as:
~Rhinoceros tap (particularly the instrumental version)
We are mixed on songs like Bad Babies and Turkey Love Song - I like them, but the kids don't quite "get" the jazzy vocals, I think.
Our "greatest hit" from this album has got to be So Long Doggies, which is just the cleverest, funniest, well-sung thing I have heard for children in all my years of being a parent. Little kids won't catch all the references, but my big kids LOVE them! ("BONE voyage...")
Despite these unevennesses, this album makes a great change from all the commercialized kiddie schlock out there.
If you want something you can all sing along to and not have to worry about what kinds of influences your kids are being exposed to, grab this delightfully innocent album and be prepared to sing your heart out!
(My only 'complaint' - it would be great if there was also a CD version.)

We love Sandra Boynton, but I'll admit I was hesitant to listen to this - we are kind of picky when it comes to playing "good" music for... Read more
