You get what you pay for with this notepad. The dots on the paper are light and do not conflict with free-form writing. Each sheet is perforated at the top for easy removal, but the perforations are not so large that the paper could tear out spontaneously. The wires binding the notebook are thick and sturdy, and I have yet to see them bend, even after squeezing a large pen through the top! When open, the notepad is nearly flush with the surface of the table, meaning that the wire binding can slide upward rather smoothly.
I highly recommend this notepad and all others by Rhodia. I love their paper. And I will buy this notepad again!
I love these Rhodia lined pads with the fountain pen. The spacing is perfect, the pen feel is smooth. The paper handles the ink very well.
I didn't like the dot version so much but maybe I should give it time. Things just feel too cramped. The Red & Black is OK but not as smooth as the Rhodia. I think I'm going to be sticking to this brand and probably this version along with more of a journal version after I get through the two R&B books. The Webie pads seem kind of interesting also. Maybe.
This paper is like butter! It's so soft and has been wonderful for my brush pens. I use with my felt brush tips (Le Pen brush tips), my tombow fude, and my tombow dual brush pens. They are in beautiful shape and I love the grid lines - it's really helped me work on spacing. I'll probably order without lines next time, but definitely a return customer!
Only complaint and it is minimal but they put a barcode sticker on the back of the notebook 1.5x1.5 inches maybe. Would just rather have them put it on the inside or not on the notebook at all.
I will be buying more and more and more of these.
It has really flimsy front and back covers, with a heavy cardboard backer underneath the back cover in case you want to use it away from a solid writing surface.
I use fountain pens, and this paper is about perfect. The ink dries pretty quickly, but does not bleed or feather.
