Blog postIn order to know who we are and our purposes, we must go back to the beginning, where it all began. It’s our origin story.
You might be familiar with Marvel movies. One of the things I love about the writers at Marvel Cinematic Universe is that they provide origin stories for the main characters. By knowing where the character comes from, his/her history, the struggles he/she faces, and how he/she overcame them, makes me appreciate that character. In fact, once I learn the characters’3 days ago Read more -
Blog postToday is my son’s birthday! He’s 22. Wow! What was I doing at the ripe age of 22? You don’t want to know. When I think about how the news is filled with reports about the death of young black men, it saddens and scares me. I am a mother of a Black son. A wife to a Black man. A grandmother to three Black boys. If I’m not careful and fail to use wisdom for knowing when it’s time to remove myself from watching and listening to the news and negativity, I will find myself filled with dread, anxiou1 month ago Read more

Blog postI’ve read these verses multiple times, but today it hits home. Could it be because of the tragedy of the children and teachers in Uvalde, Texas? I think so! Sis, I’m extremely saddened by what is happening in our world. Honestly, it can be depressing if we focus on it too long. The news can make us feel anxious, overwhelmed, fearful, and everything else God has commanded us NOT to do.
But here’s what the Lord drew my attention to, and I want you to do the same. What Matthew writes is2 months ago Read more -
Blog postI’ve been reading a devotional plan on my Bible app, Made like Martha.
Each devotional and Scripture revealed to me that my perspective of Martha and Mary was wrong, and so was my interpretation of Luke 10:38-42. When I read these passages, I thought Jesus was saying Martha needed to be more like her sister, Mary. But I was wrong.
Jesus was not comparing Martha to her sister. He wasn’t telling Martha that she shouldn’t be who He made her be, a doer. Jesus was saying Mary3 months ago Read more -

Blog postWednesday night during Bible Study we studied some Scriptures that described God and His attributes. We discussed several passages. The next morning the Lord woke me up with this declaration: “I Am the God who matters.”
I said, “The God who matters? What does that mean?”
God responded, “I Am all you need. I Am enough for you. I Am what’s important in your life. Not another book. Not money. Not your husband. Not your children. Not a career. Not these bills, but I Am who matters3 months ago Read more -

Blog postI promised myself to always be my true authentic self, no matter how strange or quirky I may seem to other people. I didn’t make that promise until I was much older, later than it should have been. However, when 2022 began, I decided to embrace all of me, my creative multi-passionate self, flaws, and all.
I get it. I fully understand that I am a “multi-passionate creative.” Who knew there was a name for it? Back in the day, I didn’t have a clue! A multi-passionate creative is gifted w5 months ago Read more -
Blog postToday while watching my favorite feel-good show, @nbcthisisus Rebecca Pearson @mandymooremm made a statement that many of us often say, especially mothers. When given an opportunity to do something special for ourselves or life-changing, we put ourselves on the back burner and say, “next time.”
We miss the chance to do something extraordinary, exciting, amazing because we think there will be a “next time.” So we procrastinate, put it off, and before we know it, the time has passed us.5 months ago Read more -
