It's a fun read, no scary stuff, no trauma, no surprises like that. Characters will surprise you, though, once you fill in the missing pieces of their puzzles, which at the same time are engrained on the bigger scheme of the puzzle that Blue is.
I like the name of the town.
I love the food in the book!
I really liked the relationship between Devin and Layla.
Have fun reading this book! Pace yourself so you can soak it in, it's so interesting you can read it fast. My style is to be mindful and get into the book, otherwise it doesn't do honor to the storytelling, and you want to be able to have all the pieces you can identify with and recall on.
Makes a great gift! And a great gift for yourself too! We need to pamper our brains every now and then.
Enjoy RHYTHM IN BLUE!
The Rhythm in Blue is a quick and enjoyable read. Once I started it, I did not want to do anything else besides read, read, and then read some more. Senter has written a book with a fully developed storyline and characters that are relatable which made it hard for me to believe that it was her debut novel. I am highly anticipating the sequel to The Rhythm in Blue and other work by Crystal Senter Brown.

The characters are very human. We learn about how their pasts effect who they become and why they act the way they do. How even your mama can have some secrets.
The writing is incredibly fluid, the author did a beautiful job with transitioning from one character to the next. It was a quick read, and I look forward to a sequal because honestly, I want to know what will happen with these characters.
You should totally read this book.
Senter-Brown weaves an addictive web of relationship stories. Some characters to root for, and some to piss you off, all interrelated in unique and innovative ways.
Start reading it on a free day, because you won't put it down until the last sentence.
