Bergman does a masterful job of fluidly combining past and present realities in this contemporary short novel about life, love, and decisions. Bergman starts this one out brilliantly with an opening scene that sets Dora down a dark path, one of self-discovery. Paul and Vince are the well-developed, easy on the eyes, supporting cast: complex characters that unknowingly help Dora to that end. The scenes with both of them are both mind-bending and intoxicating, and Bergman’s seductive pacing aids to that effect.
The dialogue between them is supremely authentic and always seems to end too soon. The romance is classy and well-played. The writing is not just poetic, but poetry wrapped in fiction, and the words sing, which lends credence to work’s title: Rhythm to Love. I felt like in Dora’s line, “Living a life driven by passion, motivating those around me and helping spin talent into gold,” she was speaking directly to me. This is a short novel, a weekend read that packs a wallop. Highly recommended.

I LOVE this story. LOVE. Dora Walker has been through so much, pain, loss a lack of reciprocal love but she becomes very successful... things change and then there is a huge loss... one filling her with guilt. But will something, someone bring hope and possibly love that transforms? I Loved this book. I felt it. #JustLove
