About Ricardo Azziz
Dr. Azziz is an internationally recognized physician and clinical translational scientist, developing over the past 25 years an important program in reproductive medicine and androgen excess disorders research.
Azziz is also an accomplished visual artist in the surrealistic thematic. The product of an anthropologist and a nuclear physicist, both with strong artistic interests, Azziz has been exposed to strong contrasts throughout his life, which in combination with his medical experience, has led him to embrace the surrealist perspective, where life events form part of a real-dream world continuum. He has been creating pen and ink works since 1976.
He has served on the faculties of John Hopkins University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and is currently on the faculty at Augusta University, the University of California Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California. Dr. Azziz served as president of the Georgia Health Sciences University (previously called the Medical College of Georgia) and founding CEO of the Georgia Regents Health System, the sole public academic health center for the state. And because no good deed goes unpunished, he then led the merger of two universities to serve as the founding president of Georgia Regents University (now Augusta University), one of four comprehensive public research universities in Georgia.

This text will also serve as a treasured resource for new surgeons and residents who are just incorporating these procedures into their surgical repertoire. This is an eBook version which does not include access to the supplemental online content mentioned in the text.
