Our traditional couscous is a tiny pasta that is extremely light and fluffy when cooked. Golden in color and very versatile, RiceSelect Original Couscous is a great all-natural choice for you and your family. Step 1

In medium saucepan bring water, salt (optional) and butter (optional) to a boil.

Step 2

Add couscous, stirring quickly. Remove from heat and cover. Let stand 4-5 minutes.

Step 3

Fluff with fork before serving. Yields approximately 2 cups cooked couscous.

Couscous Avocado Boats

Preparation

-Combine chicken broth and salt in saucepan; bring to a boil. Add couscous, cover and remove from heat. Allow to stand 5 minutes.

-In a large bowl, combine couscous and the rest of the ingredients (except for avocados), mixing until well combined.

-Scoop out half of each avocado half and fill with couscous mixture.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon red onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup orange sections, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, chopped
  • 3 avocados, cut in half

Microwave Instructions: Pour water into a microwave-safe dish; add salt and butter if desired. Microwave on High for approximately 1 - 2 minutes or until water boils rapidly. Remove from microwave. Add Couscous; stir; cover with lid. Let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
