CASHFLOW 202: The Advanced Business and Investing Game
Move Beyond the Basics of Personal Finance
CASHFLOW 202 teaches you the advanced business and investing techniques used by technical investors and is an advanced supplement to the bestselling CASHFLOW 101 board game, called "Monopoly on steroids" by USA Today.
As a supplement to CASHFLOW 101, CASHFLOW 202 adds volatility to the existing game framework and teaches the advanced investment techniques of short-selling stock, put-options, call-options, straddles, and real estate exchanges.
CASHFLOW 202 is an educational board game that simulates real life financial strategies and situations. As a simulation, you learn valuable lessons and gain priceless insights into personal finance and investing without having to put your actual money at risk.
Developed by Robert Kiyosaki, author of the #1 personal finance book of all time, Rich Dad Poor Dad, CASHFLOW 202 is the ultimate realization of Robert’s vision of an interactive tool for financial education, and the fulfillment of his belief that we learn best by doing.
You must have CASHFLOW 101 in order to play CASHFLOW 202. This package contains new game sheets and new playing cards.

The basic game play is the same but 202 introduces many new concepts and some twists that make for a challenging game. I have had 202 for about a year and a half now and whenever we play Cashflow (my wife and I play once a month) we always want to play 202. At first it was extremely challenging but now I am to the point where I can usually escape the Rat Race fairly quickly in 202.
Big Deal and Small Deal cards have been replaced by Cashflow Deal and Capital Gains cards.
New Capital Gains concepts include: starter houses, vacant land, put options, call options, short sale of stocks.
New Cash Flow concepts include: network marketing, royalty income, REIT shares, 1031 real estate exchanges.
The Market is MUCH MORE VOLATILE in Cashflow 202.
Stocks: The ON2U and MYT4U companies will go BANKRUPT and all shares become worthless. The stocks will SPLIT. The stocks will REVERSE SPLIT.
Real Estate: Your rents per unit can INCREASE or DECREASE by $50 per month PER UNIT depending on what the market does. You can LOSE your property due to LANDSLIDES or maybe the Airport wants to take over your land.
The game teaches you how to make money in spite of (or because of) this volatility!
The Doodads are BRUTAL in 202.Read more ›
It also comes with CDs which are NOT required for the game and are pretty much useless in my mind. It's just Kiyosaki talking to his wife, their friends, and some other financial people about what they do and why 202 is great.
You MUST have the CashFlow 101 game board, money, tokens, cheese, and some dice to be able to play. You may be able to download the game board online or borrow it from someone, but that is a pain. Monopoly money won't work since these transactions can easily get into the millions.
Cashflow is an excellent game that teaches you basic skills of accounting and managing money. 202 adds very complex trading (shorting stock, call and put options, and the market is tumultuous). So Beware! and buy insurance if it comes up!
The rules of trading (in the game and real life) are quite complicated, so you may want to practice how to buy calls and puts and/or short stocks (in the game NOT real life) before inviting a bunch of friends over. Same goes with the cashflow accounting if you haven't played 101 or don't have great accounting skills.
I'll admit I just got the game and have just finished reading the rules, so there's not much I can say about the actual playing, but boy am I ever anxious to do so. The game seems more focused on teaching the basics of technical investing, but the real estate and business aspects have also been expanded, now allowing negotiating deals and partnerships with other players. All in all, there's just more you can do, more can happen, and some rules have been modified to keep things challenging.
Thus far I've just been playing Cashflow 101 with my wife, which is great for increasing basic financial literacy, but Cashflow 202 seems better suited for more players, so we'll probably have to find some friends to get in on the action. Of course, we'll play a bit on our own first to gain a bit of an edge from practicing ;)
