Editorial Reviews

A glimpse into the world of high stakes presentations... If you have a story that needs to be told, an idea that needs to be heard, a case that needs to be made, then read this book. --Tom Kelley, General Manager, IDEO and author of The Art of Innovation and The Ten Faces of Innovation

Richard Butterfield's Power of Persuasion is a must read for any executive who understands the power and importance of the spoken word. --Trevor Fetter, President and CEO, Tenet Healthcare Corporation

Butterfield has written better story-telling tips than Story, more presentational methods than An Actor Prepares, and more effective cures for the nerves than a shot of tequila... the ultimate how-to for anyone who aspires to be a great speaker or presenter. --Bing Gordon, Partner, Kleiner, Perkins Caulfield & Byers; former Chief Creative Officer, Electronic Arts

I have not completed the reading as I am in no hurry. I will do the practices as suggested for the most benefit from the book. The book demonstrates the benefit of learning to ask positive open ended questions. This encourages discussion with a client to help the client to personally understand why he or she is pursing a particular career or what they hope to gain from an venture. The literature enlightens the reader to focus on the passion for wanting or desiring an adventure of life. Understanding my own passion for what I want will help me to encourage a client to persevere with his or her own passion for personal success.
