I like to write about history, particularly related to the West and the wonderful state of Nevada. Fortunately, I've been able to do so in several of my books including "Mysteries and Legends of Nevada," "A Short History of Carson City, Nevada," "The Roadside History of Nevada," and, more recently, "A Short History of Reno, Nevada."
In 2007, I received the Nevada Writer's Hall of Fame's Silver Pen Award, which recognizes emerging or mid-career writers who have shown substantial achievement in their work and a demonstrated connection with Nevada in either their subject matter or by living in the state. It was and is a very cool honor.
For about a decade, I lived in the state of Illinois (to teach) and published three books about the Land of Lincoln, including "Illinois Curiosities," "It Happened in Illinois" and "Myths and Mysteries of Illinois."
I'm back in the West—I live in Washington state—and working on some fun writing projects that I can't wait to share with you when they get closer to completion.
