Richard Nixon is a fascinating figure in United States politics. While he is obviously most associated with the deception and drama of the Watergate scandal, there was much more to ex-President Nixon than that. This book provides information on Nixon's personal and professional background leading up to his presidential bid that foreshadows his downfall. The details of his presidency, both positive and negative, are presented in a balanced manner. Had not Nixon succumbed to whatever motivated him to engage in the deceit that was Watergate, his contributions to desegregration, women's rights, anti-sex discrimination, welfare reform, affirmative action, and ending the Vietnam War would have left him remembered as a president of some prominence. This concise yet detailed book is an excellent snapshot of a complex man and shrewd politician who took one major misstep too many.

I have always been fascinated with Richard Nixon's point of view in politics. I've heard about the Watergate Scandal and his downfall as the president of the United States, but I want to know what he had done for this country — without foreshadowing his mistakes and trials he had encountered during his term. Lucky for me, Mark has written this book in a captivating manner and he made me realize that you need to know who the person is before you judge that person. The book is not those typical boring biographies I've read when I was in high school; in fact, this book is presented in an unbiased perspective and it will make you feel like you're with Richard Nixon the whole time. Highly recommended! Well done!

This book is short and to the point, but in a good way. The book is an extremely easy read covering Nixon's life from birth right up to his passing. I really enjoyed reading about the man and not all the politics like his time in military service and practicing law. Mark has put together another great book. Highly recommended!

This eBook is an excellent, short (52 page) resource for information regarding the life and politics of Richard Nixon. The information is presented in an educational, but entertaining manner. Not as dry as the average biography. This Brief History relates the details of his life from an unbiased perspective.

This brief historical review of Richard Nixon is a must read for anyone involved in research of an historical figure.
The information here flows together quite well and is very interesting content. The material covers so much in so little time.
Mark uses a completely objective approach and hangs with the importance of detail. I thoroughly
enjoyed the read. In fact,it refreshed me on some of the important things accomplished during Mr.
Nixon's presidency.

Living in Washington area while this piece of history was taking place this was a "no brainer" for my reading choices. And, as they say, There is always two sides to a story", and this is one version.

This was a nice, short summary of a man that history will judge far much better in the future than he is viewed today. It should be proof-read a little better as years are listed incorrectly (Nixon resigned on 8/8/74, not 8/8/75 -this is only one incorrect date in the summary). A good primer for someone looking to do more research on the man.

This is a very good, succinct history of Richard Nixon a US President only remembered for his indescretions such as Watergate, than for his success in domestic and foreign policies. However this book is marred by errors: in spelling, grammer, word omisions and incorrect facts. Could it be put down to laziness in editing or haste in production?
