We bought two of these for our kitchen island. They look great and are the right height for a kitchen counter. The padding on the seat is not that thick, but comfortable enough in my opinion. Instructions were included and no parts were missing. Assembly is simple but you'll need to pull on the tubing to get the holes to line up so the screws will fit. Once all the screws are in place and tightened it's very sturdy. Swiveling action is just fine.

I got this stool to use in the workshop and at a workbench. It was easy to assemble and feels solid. The rotating seat is a little tight, but will loosen up with time. I put a small amount of heavy motor oil inside the swivel mechanism before assembling. The plastic tips for the legs were difficult to push on at first, but putting them in a bowl of hot water softened them a bit and they went right on. The standard 30" height is right for most applications, but you should measure how much legroom you will need in advance if using the stool at a workbench or table. I found that I needed about 36" of clearance height for my legs while seated on the stool. Consider actual clearance allowing for bench or table top support members, not just height of top surface. For my 42" high bench with 38" clearance underneath, this stool works well. I will post an update after 6 months of use, but as a new purchase I give it five stars. And it is made in USA.

These stools look great at our counter! We looked for a long time to find just the right style, quality and affordability. These hit all the marks. The only negative is a very small cut in the side of one of the seats and I don’t know if it came like that or happened shortly after by something we did. We didn’t notice it until we’d had them for a few days. The swivel is the best part. I’d recommend these for sure.

Not much to it - this is a decent, fairly inexpensive stool that is a good height for playing. Seems comfortable and sturdy enough in the short time I've been using it. Simple assembly, just have to be a little careful to get the main plate for the seat tightened level on the legs.

Note on customer service: The stool arrived missing one of the plastic "glides" that goes on the bottom of the legs. I contacted the company via Amazon and they responded very quickly, shipping a new set of glides out right away. When the glides had not arrived in a few days, I contacted them again for a tracking number. They had sent via USPS and didn't have a tracking number, but they promptly shipped another set via UPS. Not great that it was missing a part, but credit them for good prompt customer service and making it right.

I really liked this stool (i bought 3), it was the perfect height for both myself (a vocalist) and my guiatrist. He put them together so I'm not sure how easy they were to assemble, but they are really sturdy. They do swivel, but only if you really want them to. Somebody else wrote that they don't have a lot of cushioning and they don't really, the seats are a bit hard for long sitting, but that can easily be fixed by using a cushion. The seat is covered nicely with a material that seems long-wearing and which is easy to clean, and they're light enough to move them around easily.

What else can I say?

This is exactly what I was looking for and it actually looks better in my office than on the site. The swivel action is tight, but not so much that movement is impeded. The construction is sturdy and a welcome addition in any Man Cave.

Small thing for some people will be the complexity of the assembly. Don't worry here because it really could not be simpler. I recommend having a philips head and a robogrip, vice grip or something similar used for tightening the locking nuts.

The price is real fair and I can see keeping this for years.

Yup. I pretty much love this stool. Not ready to pick out curtains and take a long weekend trip to Napa with it, but I would pick it up from the airport.

Hit add to cart, because this thing is not going to buy itself.

I purchased 5 of these stools for my basement bar in January 2010. I was looking for something that had the retro 50's look but didn't cost a fortune. I was a little nervous while I waited for them to be delivered...just thinking that the cost was so good that maybe they wouldn't be good quality. But I was very pleased when they arrived (and they arrived quite quickly too)! They look very nice and are very sturdy. The swivel feature of the seat is pretty stiff but I assume that will loosen over time as they are used more. There were a couple of grey caps on the ends of the legs that were cracked but that really isn't a big deal and you can buy replacements anywhere. Also - so you know cuz I was a little worried - the seats are dark black. The picture made the seat look a little brownish to me but I was happy when they arrived and were definitely black. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend these stools to anyone!
