Product Description
Brad (Tim Allen) and Caroline Sexton (Kirstie Alley) were incredibly rich and incredibly miserable. Until something unbelievable happened…their accountant robbed them dry. Now they're on the run from the IRS and hiding out in the one place no one will ever look for them…Amish country. While their lawyer sorts things out in New York, they've got to do their best to blend in and are failing miserably! Hard work may prove to be more difficult than hard times as the Sextons are learning how to milk cows, plow fields and fall in love all over again.

Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley are New York scammers on the lam from the IRS--they got framed by their slimy accountant, Wayne Knight of Seinfeld--so they hide out as fake Amish farmers in Intercourse, Pennsylvania. As parodies of Witness go, For Richer or Poorer can't compete with the Woody Harrelson-Bill Murray flick Kingpin, by the creators of Dumb & Dumber. Allen and Alley are directed by the creator of McHale's Navy. But wait, come back! The true test of talent is a capacity to romp right through weak material, and while this story is hopelessly lame and formulaic, Allen and Alley are credible candidates for the clown prince and princess of broad TV comedy. When somebody wonders how come alleged Amish guy Tim Allen has no beard, Kirstie says, "Lice." Of course, his face has no lice on it either, so Kirstie adds, "Minute lice!" --Tim Appelo

- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2023I have a copy of this already. I bought this copy to cheer up a lady in a nursing home. It is aimed at adults but the racy dialog is so clever, I think it would make an OK family film. Or even a good date night movie. At the heart is a love story. A couple has problems in their marriage, and then they get some real problems. It is genuinely funny without being over the top or silly. There are a lot of laughs. My favorite is Tim Allen being chased through the park with an agent yelling at him. This movie is almost three decades old but it ages very well. And it has good values and life lessons nicely integrated into the tale.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 20182 of my cousins had recommended this movie to me and said it was real funny that I should give it a go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only watched part of it with them while my family and I were having a get-together at my grandparents but we had to leave right away since it was a school night and it was close to our bedtime. I have waited so long to watch it from beginning to end and it's been on my mind, until one day I was shopping here on Amazon and was thinking about it so I bought it since it was only a few dollars so I thought "Hey, Why NOT!!!!!!" I just received the DVD in the mail yesterday and I'm so looking forward to watching it really soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peter Smith
Update for 1/22/2019 I also purchased a copy of the DVD of the movie along with a bunch of other movies to give to my sister as a birthday gift back in December of 2018 and I know that she will really enjoy it as much as I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2023One of my favorite comedies of all time. So underappreciated. It's a classic light hearted comedy with a great morale with the under-story.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2023I have this DVD and love it. I bought this copy for a friend as a gift. The movie stars Tim Allen and Kisty Alley as a rich married couple who find themselves on the run from the federal government. They ended up hiding out in an Amish community. With these two comic comedians, every scene is a laugh a minute. This is a must watch on your list and a keeper.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2023showed it to my Amish friends who are younger and a bit less strict in their old customs and they thought it was funny
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2016Received order on time. This stuff is awesome, got it for my old black faded motorcycle jacket. I wore rubber gloves and rubbed this on the entire jacket and still had about a half bottle left over, 1 bottle will do 2 jackets 100%.Clean leather good with wet towel and let dry over night.
Put a little Black Jacket on your fingers and rub into leather, a little goes a long ways. I didn't use the sponge that came with it, I just poured a little in cup that came with it and just used the tips of my fingers. Wear rubber gloves!
Keep a towel close and wipe off of zippers and metal snaps. Hang jacket to dry over night. You can buff lightly with towel if you want a vintage look before it drys.
My black jacket looks and feels brand new.
Before wearing I would put a conditioner or protector on the leather as you would any new leather jacket.
Just ordered a second bottle for a buddy to use on his older leather motorcycle seat. Good stuff, gave 5stars.

DoglatinReviewed in the United Kingdom on January 17, 20085.0 out of 5 stars Get ready for Feelgood!
This story is about a high flying successful couple whose marriage is on the rocks and only their material possessions and money seems to be holding them together. A sudden downturn on their finances sees them trying to escape the IRS (inland revenue in the UK)and they end up posing as Amish cousins in a remote Amish community. What follows are some very funny and very touching moments as Tim and Kirsty try to 'fit' in with the Amish way of life. It is not long before the simple ways get under their skin and they find joy in the simplest of pleasures. It is a very funny movie but with a feelgood factor ending which I haven't seen since "Wonderful Life". Not released in the uk yet but was available for rental on Video a few years ago. Very, very good family entertainment. I could watch it again and again.
