About the Author

Zac Gorman is a cartoonist from Detroit, MI, raised on the sacred suburban triumvirate of video games, cartoons, and comic books. He's the creator of the popular webcomic Magical Game TIme and has worked on several animated television series as a storyboard artist and character designer. Zach currently resides in Chicago with his far more talented wife and a furry little monster who most people mistake for a cat.

CJ Cannon is a self-taught artist living in Nashville, Tennessee. When they're not working on comics, outside riding their bike, or drumming, they're almost always in the house drawing fan art.

Marc Ellerby is a comic book illustrator from the UK. He is probably most known for his work on the Rick and Morty comics from Oni Press and [adult swim]. He has worked with companies such as Disney, Warner Bros., BBC, Hasbro and Cartoon Network. However, he is never as happy when he is drawing his own comics such as Chloe Noonan: Monster Hunter or the autobiographical diary comic Ellerbisms.

Cat Farris is a Portland, OR-based comic artist and illustrator, and a member of the comics collective known as Helioscope.
She is the artist for the Dark Horse comic series EMILY AND THE STRANGERS, and MY BOYFRIEND IS A BEAR from Oni Press. She is creator and producer of the comic series FLACCID BADGER and the web comic THE LAST DIPLOMAT. She has also done some short pieces for PLANTS VS ZOMBIES, BANDETTE, HARROW COUNTY(Dark Horse), RICK AND MORTY, THE SIXTH GUN(Oni Press), as well as for independent anthology collections CAUTIONARY FABLES AND FAIRY TALES: ASIA, and CAN I PET YOUR WEREWOLF.
Despite her name, Cat is horridly allergic to cats, so instead owns a retired racing greyhound named Sally. When she's not drawing comics or illustrations, you can find her playing video games or reading, or studying Japanese.

The pages have a nice weight to them and are printed with quality ink. It came protected and had no damage to the cover or pages. This is a fun little comic book for fans of the Rick & Morty TV show. It felt a little like watching really good extra features and cut scenes on a DVD movie that didn't make it into the final cut of the film. Or watching a Rick & North episode of Interdimensional Cable, giving you a little taste of a bunch of adventures that get your imagination going. If you like Rick & Morty it's worth reading, even if you don't like comic books.

I haven't read the single issues, but I assume this trade collects the first five issues of the comic, with all the side stories printed in the back. The artwork for the main stories is a step below the show, but is still pretty good. The artwork for extras in the back vary from okay to awkward and bad.

As for the comics themselves, the humor for the show is preserved just fine, and the dialogue, for better or for worse, is written exactly the way the characters would talk in the show, so reading the characters dialogue in their TV shows voices in your head will feel natural.

There's some continuity between issues, and callbacks to the show. You'll see some familiar faces outside of the Smith family. So make sure to be caught up on the show before delving into this. If you're considering a Rick and Morty comic though, I assume you're all caught up anyway.

There may be a few things that contradict the shows canon, but that's the beauty of the multiverse, which Rick and Morty embraces: Canon holds no meaning.

It is just Rick and Morty from the TV show and there is not ONE person I have met on this earth to have any disgust or even any hate for this series! Even those I met who didn't care for it don't even have that much distaste for it. If you were to say it was a hit, the series hits it out of the ball park and into different dimensions, universes and who knows what else! The comic or collection of comics is just as good and entertaining as watching the TV show, so it's worth the purchase. I am waiting for the next vol. to release and am patiently waiting for season 3.

I-I-I give it five stars because I like the *burp* show, I-I-I'm not being objective here. Full color, good construction -for a paperback. Takes, i dont know, like 2? 2 or 3 hours? 3 hours to read? Now *burp* was objective. Also stay away from Rick and Morty comics from other dimensions. Don't ask.
