This Paris guide is no different. Again he has great comprehensive information about a variety of areas, covering multiple interests and budgets. His guidebooks tend to be more informative rather than just a seeming telephone book of hotels and restaurants with phone numbers and times (though he does have a good list of those for each area). He has a lot of self-guided walks through Paris as well, which I found to be really helpful the last time I was there (and way cheaper than taking an expensive tour!). Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality and detail of his books and am very much looking forward to my next trip to Paris this winter!
I have used metro pass and the museum pass in the past and the book does tell you it is more cost effective to by the book of carnets for the metro and if you are concentrating on one or two museums, it does not pay to buy the pass.. It is true. The tips in the book helped me save money. The money I saved more than paid for the book.
I would recommend the book for travelers to Paris. When I came home I donated it to my local library so other may use the book.
super helpfull to make a itinerary and make the most of Paris.
also download his app for the walking tours. if you use his app and books you won't need to pay for a tour guide that is for sure.
What I really appreciated are the interviews and tours you can download from his website for free. I downloaded many of these to my cell phone before leaving and listened to them on the flight over. It was very enjoyable to hear the added perspectives of local guides Rick has invited to his radio program.
Rick Steve's provides tremendous value to travelers. His book allowed us to use our time wisely to see most of the things on our list and have an overview of not to miss highlights at each site. He also advised how to stay safe and avoid pick pockets. We followed his advice and recognized them immediately. We will always buy his guides before traveling to Europe in the future. Thank you to Rick Steve's and his team.
