"The Other Woman" by Sandie Jones
“The Other Woman is an absorbing thriller with a great twist. A perfect beach read.” ― Kristin Hannah, #1 New York Times bestselling author of "The Great Alone" Pre-order today
About the Author
Xanthe Walter writes adult romances, specializing in novel-length male/male and BDSM stories, often with a fantasy, sci-fi or murder-mystery twist. She started out as a fanfiction writer, winning major awards in every fandom she participated in. She is particularly well known for her invention of a BDSM universe, where everyone is bisexual and identifies as either dominant or submissive. Ricochet is the first original character novel she's published, and she is now looking forward to writing many more. Xanthe lives in London, England with two very spoiled cats!

My only quibble is .. where's the next book (Slavecatcher?). The website about Slavecatcher seems to have been last updated in 2014. There is an old worn teaser on the site but, honestly, I've been teased quite enough now, I want a full book. Has something happened to the author? Hope not.
Sigh, guess I'll just have to keep reading Ricochet.
This was not your usual dark BDSM book and the take on D/s dynamic was very refreshing. I would consider this a BDSM light book for the fresh take on the subject but there are spankings, collaring, nipple clamping, punishments and more. Well I guess after that you would think this was heavy on BDSM but it feels like its not due to the alternate universe set up.
Waiting for Karl and Daniel story now ;-)
As for our main men....I adored Matt and Rick. Matt with his OCD and Ricks commitment phobic tendencies where so real and honest. They were funny and charming and so TRUE to themselves! All of the supporting characters were bold and funny and fit so well with the storyline that I can honestly say I miss them as much as our main boys! Even the "villains" of the story were awesome! So easy to hate em :) I was so sad when it ended that I went to the authors website looking for any other releases she might have out and found free novel length stories set in this same universe. YAY!!! I was in heaven (and busy the rest of the weekend)!! Even her fanfic is better then most of the stuff I BUY these days! Amazing! I. Can. Not. Wait. To see if we get Daniel and Karl's story. Yes? Pretty please??. Oh, and major kudos to the author for not having our happy couple just sail off into the sunset and live HEA off page. I was thrilled that they managed find their way to each other and we STILL had many chapters to go to tie up the loose ends and to watch how our guys adjusted to each other ....very nice!
This book has pretty much everything I look for in a AU novel...or any book really. Excellent world building, believable story and characters, angsty but not so melodramatic that you want to throw your Kindle across the room, minimal if any editing mistakes and the novel PLUS length makes it SO worth the money. This is one book I would recommend to ANY MM erotic/BDSM romance lover. I look forward the Xanthe's next release. She will definitely be an auto buy for me! Seriously. Buy this book!
What happened? I was pleasantly surprised. There were intimate scenes, but they were interesting. The world of subs and doms that made me wary? It was actually a fun to read world. It was intriguing how the society functioned, they treated subs and doms like genders, in a way. Just... Everything was great. Give it a chance, or maybe not, but really, maybe you should...?
