Since it would be difficult to review the effectiveness of the product as I'm not going to video 24/7 on 44 different locations, I'll post some comments on installation.
Installation on my 1-year-old house required tin snips ($15 from Lowe's) and a chisel used to knock out some loose mortar. I had to custom fit all but 1 of the covers. Let me explain custom fit: the bricklayers are not perfectionists - most holes have mortar inside angled to some degree from front to back, maybe the hole is a bit shorter than the others, maybe the mortar overlap is only on one side in there. This means I might have to shorten the cover by a couple of rungs or perhaps cut it in half for the back patio where we had an inch of patterned concrete poured on top of the slab. Sometimes the hole was widest at its opening but narrowed as it went back and I would have to cut the back of the cover vertically. Sometimes I would need to notch out some of the top and bottom of the backside of the cover but leave the full length in front. Cutting these little guys was very easy, especially considering all the slots to choose from. They are also very flexible and easy to work with. There were probably 4 or 5 locations that were too narrow for me to get one inserted but other than that I did the whole house, including the trimming, in under an hour.Read more ›

These worked great, just make sure you have snips to cut these as they are pretty tough to cut with anything else. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Viva San Fermin
