Alive and living next store he went out and was going to confront her for suddenly leaving all those years ago. Over hearing Cora cry to her sister \friend about how she still loves him and never wanted to leave .He confronts her .... I dont want to give all away but it was a great story of true love
At times I was confused with the writing since some parts seemed to jump around and I was confused about what parts were in the present and in the past. Cora was a strong woman but I do believe she was naive for certain aspects and that some of damage could have been avoided if she trusted in her family.
I'm still confused as to what happened to Jesse because last we saw him, he was alive and then in the epilogue they state he's dead. Also how could someone claim a person's inheritance without a death certificate or any legal documents? This may sound weird but why didn't Jesse just kill Cora; he literally kept her alive so that he could pretend she was dead to claim half of her money just for him to try to kill her later to get the other half.
12 years ago Cora, his heaven on earth, his angel, was taken from him. Taken, by the hands of her brother Jesse and his friend Cutter. Riddick was told that she was dead. His life had never been the same. With the help of a friend, he noticed what looked like Cora on the beach. His life flipped, turned upside down. Was this his angel? Was this his heaven on earth? With such a tough and changed exterior, would she notice him if it was indeed her?
His best friends help uncover the truth behind the disappearance of Cora; and Riddick won't give up until those two evil men pay the ultimate price. He will be her protector and saving grace.
Kathy truly knows her readers. She knows what we want and how we want it. She lures us in, in the very beginning and keeps a strong hold on our hearts. I love every single thing that she has written. I absolutely cannot wait until book 2 is released. I am already so excited!!!
Jump to 12 years later and Riddick is in law enforcement; he also believes Cora was murdered. When they find each other again, it is a moving, sexy story of love! I have to agree with other reviewers that the ending is not realistic and annoying, but I did find the storyline engrossing and fast-moving.
The pain that Cora and Riddick with though was unbearable. These two were ripped apart and Riddick missed out on so much. I can not imagine all the feelings Riddick felt when he found out he had a son.
I loved the chemistry between Riddick and Cora. It is like the love never died. I love how Riddick feel right into the roll of being a dad to Ethan. I love see what a great mother Cora is.
Cora is in danger and Riddick is determined to keep her and his son safe. I love how Riddick’s friends did not hesitate to step in and help. I love the brotherhood you see between Riddick and his friends.
This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.
