This is a collaborated book, but not in the sense that both clubs are involved with each other during the entire book. It’s actually 2 separate stories, where the club has one meeting point.
The Ravage MC guys have 2 loads going out, but they are in opposite directions & the both have the same delivery date. So the Ravage MC makes a call to the Hellions MC to get another transport set up. This is the only time that a few of the club guys are together.
The Hellions story is the first part of the book. Rex and his brother Tripp take their Crews Transport big rig to the Ravage MC to pick up their load and haul to New Mexico. Along the way they run into trouble, but between them and the backup following them in a car, they were able to take care of the problem. Through that drama, we’re given some insight into the Original Ride book. Meanwhile, Caroline aka Lux is at home planning her and Rex’s wedding. Now, Rex just has to make it home so that they can make dreams come true.
The Ravage part of the book had Harlow aka Princess and Cruz as the main characters. Cruz had previously asked Princess to marry him and she accepted, even though she wasn’t in any big rush to walk down the aisle. But now she is nearing her due date and still hasn’t made any decisions and Cruz is getting antsy. Princess is kept mighty busy with Cruz’s son, Cooper and getting ready for birth.
I like both of these series, but they both have timeline issues compared to when the books have been published and both authors have also stated this. In the front of this book both authors show where this book fits in with their timeline.
Review Lux and Rex, Cruz and Princess each have continuations of their stories in this book. The first half deals with Lux and Rex and how this transport gives each of them insight into what they want in their relationship. Lux realizes what is important and decides that NYC is not the right place to get married. Rex knows he wants it all with Lux and is pleased with the surprise she has waiting for him at the end of his run.
Cruz and Princess have a big surprise handed to them in their story continuation. Harlow really does still get on my nerves but somehow I like her anyway. It was a sweet look at how life can throw you a curve ball and you just have to adapt each time. Harlow really did do too much and I was astounded at some of her stubborn thoughts. Instead of asking for help she almost lost it all. Cruz surprised me with not understanding that she needed help and that Coop would drain her physically and mentally. I thought he should have been chastised along with her for not stepping up more. The ending was nice and was a good place to leave their story
Rex and Lux are needing their happy ending and she is trying to deal with him being gone on club business. While missing Rex and not hearing from him, she decides she wants to surprise him with their wedding. Poor Rex was missing Lux but knows the club comes first. No matter what kind of danger Rex faces, his love for Lux is truly amazing. After being such a ladies' man, I am glad to see Rex settled down with Lux and his son. I loved seeing Rex so surprised with everything Lux did because we all know Lux always gets what she wants. I'm glad to see their happy ending and to see Rex so happy.
I fell in love with Cruz and Harlow and was really glad to get this story about them. Harlow is one strong woman after everything she has been through and then took on Cruz with a son. She's a wonderful mom to him and when Cruz has to leave for club business, she finds out more and more that being a mom isn't easy. While gone, she gets unexpected news that could change their whole world. I must say I was even anxious for her, not knowing what Cruz would think. I fell in love with Cruz a little more and I'm so happy to see how this worked out.
Both of these stories have so many feels I needed two boxes of tissues. You could feel the love these two couples have for one another jumping off the pages at you.
My hat off to both Chelsea and Ryan. The way they bring these two stories together but also giving them there own time was very enjoyable.
